Just for my sanity’s sake. I’m just going to assume that the real Xuan Mo is dead in ep 1 that’s why Ah Bu could take over her body just like that and nothing ever mentioned of her after that.
I wish he makes more dramas this year but it seems that he won’t. He’s been missing in dramas since 2017 and only made one drama since then. So sad. Fans like me miss him!!!
The sexism...10 years age gap is not a problem when it's the guy who's older but when it is the girl everyone…
I second with your comment @ lordiene. Don’t you just love it when the table is turned (esp. against the traditions/norms), people go all hysterical?
@lilly1008 You definitely have the right to voice your opinions and diss at whoever you want BUT you’ve said QUOTE “wedded wife and mama Zhao Li Ying kiss the ten years younger little flower-boy Wang Yibo” UNQUOTE is clearly you having a problem with the age gap, otherwise you wouldn’t made such remarks.
I personally don’t feel, as an audience, that their relationship is like a sibling type. The built up to their romance may be slow but a very steady pace and I could definitely feel their deep love for each other through their sacrifices, their interactions with each other and in their eyes when they looked at each other. In no way have their faces betray their characters’ deep affections for each other. They acted really well and I’m falling for it. I’m sure I’m not the only audience that falls for it as well. So I personally don’t feel it’s a waste of talent. Everyone in the casting team seemed to be doing well coz I’m enjoying it. Can’t wait for ep 45!
I’m at ep 39 and struggling to finish it. C’mon! Just 4 more episodes BUT I JUST CANNOT!!! I’m skipping so many scenes. The FL is not only annoying but also very disappointing character. At the beginning her character was so good but now I don’t know what happened. Not only her IQ and martial arts skills drop drastically as episodes roll on but also her EQ. All she ever do was walk around mopping and sulking like an idiot while letting people solve her problems. I get that the writers want to paint her as a hopeless romantic but all I see is a big turn-off. The only thing watchable is the ML. Am I the only one who skipping all of her crying scenes? The actress is seriously so bad at acting those scenes... **sighs** I’m so bored!!
When did feng xi begin to forget about dongyue exactly. I'm on ep 24.
He started to act weird when he tried to change history when he’s not supposed to by first saving his father-in-law and dong yue slapped him in front of the emperor to pretend she’s upset with him for going to brothel- he snapped back straight away demanding who exactly is she and for that split second she felt something is off. After that, there’s signs of him forgetting her.
I saw the trailers for episode 41 to 43. Now I understand more. Actually Prince Pangyu and Feng Xi are actually…
Thanks for that! I just wish the writers could create something so that our two main leads could live happily ever after in their mortal bodies as well as in their spiritual realms where their souls resides. Bitter sweet ending it seems.
It’s his employee who stole the vase and yes you’re right, the nanny was told to give the vase only to our FL and the letter was hidden in the vase so the nanny doesn’t know anything. The employee was set up by the SFL’s father.
But at least the Emperor admits his mistakes after each wrongs held one. Kudos to him. Not many emperors in dramas…
I understand what you mean. Agree with your anger but to be personally, this wasn’t the case. The Emperor himself is bind by rules and regulations. He knew he shouldn’t do it but once his brother spoken the words out, he has to by his own customs and law to agree to it otherwise other ministers and the public will criticise his rulings. That’s why they didn’t filmed his reply but close shot his face and fist to depict his struggles during that scene when his brother kneeled in front of him with Imperial eunuchs as witnesses. If his brother spoken to him in a private setting with just between them and the Emperor made such decisions, then I would agree with your anger and his stupid mistakes even more. But this wasn’t the case. We gotta sometimes understand the character not only through their POV but also by the context the writers trying to create as well as the settings that the story was taken place.
I have defended Fu Rong many times in the dramas for her immature ways but when she accused Prince Su @ep36 like that for killing her father - my last straw is gone. Like literally. C’MON WRITERS!!! Seriously?!!! Why you have to continue to degrade our female lead like this into something that literally have no brain?!!! Even if this was her second traumatic event, you don’t do something like déjà vu and accuse the same man of the same murder crime against your love ones at the same crime scene, especially when it was proven he was innocent the first round!!! If he didn’t do it the first round, why the heck would he do it again?!! Arggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!! LAME!
There’s no first or second prince. There will never be a 1st Prince as Asian custom counts from the 2nd onwards.
The first child of the Emperor must have been a daughter from the Empress (because she’s old, they must have sent her off to marry away early so are not in the drama). Prince Xu Mao, son of Consort Duan, is the second child of the Emperor (but as stated before, Chinese tradition we count/call children from 2nd as parents are always the 1st) so he’s the 3rd Prince. Prince Su and Prince Hao are both sons of Consort Shu and consecutively the third and fourth children of the Emperor, 4th & 5th Princes. They took away Prince Su from Consort Shu instead of Prince Mao from a Consort Duan must have been because between the age gaps of Prince Mao and Prince Su, the Empress was pregnant and so they thought she must have been having a son but when they found out it was a daughter, the took away Prince Su. It’s easier to take a baby from birth who is yet to attach to his mother to adopt and teach than a toddler who is already attached to his mother. It got nothing to do with who is more docile and who is easier to boss around. The consorts have to listen to the strict hierarchy system so if they were to take away Consort Duan’s son, she has no choice but to obey like Consort Shu did - of course this wasn’t the case in our drama.
