oh budget absolutely relates to how skilled your filming crew is, how much time you get in the set sto do retakes/reshoots,how much time and effort the post production team is gonna spend on the cgi/editing etc. budget is everythin

they were being weirdly subtle about that kneeling scene lol but there were some clues from the end of ep28/beginning of ep29:
- WWX asks what LWJ is doing in Yiling, LWJ says he’s here to night hunt
- WWX offers to lead LWJ to where he wants to go, LWJ doesn’t answer
- WWX later teases LWJ that maybe LWJ is actually here to to see him, LWJ doesn’t answer again

so pretty much LWJ he has no business being in Yiling. either his uncle found out and told him to kneel or he felt guilty and asked for punishment himself

I think they forgot to write a scene for that in the drama, but the curse basically resolved once they revisited the tomb. the whole point of that leg curse is NHS leaving subtle clues and wanting LWJ and WWX to come back to the tomb and notice something is odd the sword spirits and the bodies in the wall

got dragged back down to 7.9... man, the struggle is real with the antis rushing in for every 0.1

I think the raving reviews and high stats can be misleading for viewers expectations, but everyone should remember that this is still only a webdrama that aired on one site and was not accepted to air on tv. it’s weakest feature is technical production and can’t really hold a candle to some of the recent xianxia productions that's made for tv. it has the biggest budget compared to other BL adaptations, but that’s not much compared regular BG dramas. that’s why fans are hoping its success can open doors for future BL adaptations

but why would he turn around and make that expression if no one was there? yeah it’d be nice if they spell it out explicitly but a drama made in China and I don’t get why people would choose to interpret it negatively when strong implication of a reunion is right there for grabs

ossan’s love is getting a movie sequel with the same cast and staff planned for summer 2019!! it is about shanghai and their relationship afterwards asdfcgvj
i was honestly expecting this, because as the year comes to an end ossan’s love and tanaka kei kept on sweeping every award it was eligible for in japan. it’s hilarious that this drama got all the critical acclaim over medical drama and crime drama etc lol, but it’s what ossan’s love deserves!!

honestly with the IMPACT that this drama had in japan and the money it's still making with all the merch, the producers would be crazy to not go for another season, or at least a Shanghai SP. it swept the drama awards and tanaka kei literally had the miracle of his career. now he's everywhere on TV and in all these trending lists trumping actors in their 20s. and also this happened last week when they put up posters last week for the DVD release

love sick isnt mature bc how mature can a bunch of messy high schoolers be, but it still tackled more tangible themes like identity, materialism, friendship, bullying etc. so i'd say it's more mature than 2 moons' sole theme which is persistence will land you a boyfriend.

and there were more incendiary comments from the production crew like how a gay actor kissing on screen would make the series appear "cheap and pornographic". had me checking the calendar to see if it's really the year 2017 we're living in

anyway i think these kind of scandals should be discussed more, not as a personal attack against the drama but because it's an industry wide problem. who would wanna come out of the closet with these attitudes

just finished both seasons of love sick recently. it had a lot of flaws in terms of acting and meandering plot lines, but it was the first of it's kind and paved the way for an entire genre (which really surprised me that there was never a leading same sex couple in prime time slot on tv before 2014/2015, considering it's freaking thailand). but really it's more than than a bl drama, there are some really poignant themes about growing up and falling in love. the thing i appreciate is how phun and noh are really great and hearty characters who grows up with the story. especially noh, he is probably my most memorable thai drama character as of now. i missed him for days after i finished the drama lol

lol i don't wanna rag on phana because it's obvious that he came straight out of the writer's fantasies and his sole purpose is to be the hot and popular love interest. and that's all fine, but it means the weight of character depths is on the main character's shoulders and wayo is just not it...

it was honestly hard to get into this drama after knowing about the casting scandal but i managed to give it a shot and found it decent. it was definitely well made budget wise and the actors are all lookers. the plot is really straight forward, sometimes so much that its a snooze. i can't tell if it's the flaw in the original storyline or if its just difficult to translate on screen, but wayo is a really weak main character. i found myself wishing ming was the lead multiple times lol (although that may be because kimmon's acting carries every scene he's in in that sea of wooden pretty boys). but i'm optimistic that s2 will improve things
