Exactly right? DS wasn't even ready to face his past in previous episodes, what in the world would have changed???Just…
Giving as the hard truth, eh? 👍 Yes, they hated the fluff, when they could have just enjoyed their honeymoon phase. Now, that we are here, they hated it again. Smh!
The show, to me, is doing fine. It's right on target. I like the pacing of this drama. I love the different stories of the neighbors on each episode. Now, it's Chief Hong's time.
The old man's role was very predictable, too, but what frustrated me most was the detective. What was the point…
They are lazily written, they very much are. Ive seen these characters before in many soap operas. That frustrated me the most about this series. Dialogues were bad too.
Yeah, that scared cat has been writing comments like that for every negative review of this drama. I experienced the same. Very much a kid, like some of the players in the game.
Squid's GameRate: 7Keep in mind that before you read any further, this review is coming from the perspective of…
Exactly this. I feel the same. I have not watched many dramas in this genre, only Alice and The Hunger Games. But I was expecting complicated games and it disappointed in that part.
I hated the sappy moments. Ep2 was the worst. It really didn't help with me liking any of the characters.
But it seems to be that we are very few that felt okay with this, coz a lot of people seem to be watching this, even in the US. I find it surprising that this is in the top 10. But again, I have different preference compare to other viewers.
Yes! Yes! Truly. A huge letdown. And they had the audacity to bring in high paid actors for a cameo, when the…
As normal with SK projects, the two cameos, Gong Yoo and Lee Byung Hyun, were only brought in because the writer and director worked with them in the past. So they accepted. I don't think it was because the project was good. Overall, not a deal breaker for me.
What truly let me town were the characters. There were no nuances to them. They are the typical villains in kdramas, where they yell and scream to get what they want. They are annoying. Irritating. They are not redeemable. I cannot root for the MC because he makes bad decisions. He's in a life and death game, yet cant seem to play one.
South Koreans do excel in a slice of life genre. And i wish this was one. Because it would have worked well in a lifr and death situation.
I also prefer Alice in Borderland better. In terms of concept, complex games and character development. I did enjoy Move to Heaven, which did a hell of a job making us love the anti-hero character, way better than Squid.. But the recent drama, D.P., was my favorite this year.
You think so…? I think it’s subjective. In Alice there were parts that felt so random and dumb and almost…
Yes. All of this. I prefer Alice in Borderland as well.
The co cept is just not well thought out. Also, without the big budget, the characters are from your typical koean thriller dramas. Not what i expect from a Netflix thriller.
To those who loved this series and are puzzled by the average rating -- I was exploring some episode-recap sites…
This is one of my favorite show. I saw it a few years back. Just happen to pass by here.
Im also baffled by the ratings. But based on the stats, the only way it will go up is if more people watch it and grade it higher. Those who scored it low will likely not co,e back and score it higher. Also based on its stat, majority of the score comes from teenagers. This drama is not for teenagers. It will not appeal to them.

What we got and how we got it is right on target with this drama.
Still, i still cannot praise this drama that much. But many others seem to have enjoyed it.

No. It was not the preview. It was something that happened during their drinking session with PD.
You could have simply commented that you disagree with my comment. And I'm okay with that. If you like it, then I'm happy for you.

This is a letdown after the more nuanced Netflix original, D.P. and Move to Heaven.

They brought out the big guns, but there really wasnt anything to it.

Im shocked they even watched or simply scored it.
You do have good taste in selecting dramas you want your friend to watch. I can see why your friend would enjoy them.
I mean 2gether, Gameboys, and Light On Me, these are great choices for him to watch. Light enough to lure him in.
