A whole new kinda k drama with artistic aspects you said? Sorry, but the execution feels just like other k-dramas…
I like to believe the low score is not because it hits too personal for them. It's simply because ep10 was so bad. It erases anything positive about it.
For many viewers, they are looking at it from Na-bi's perspective. So, for 9 episodes we were rooting for her and her self healing. We felt the doubts, the insecurities each time she was with PJE. We cried with her at the end op ep9 after admitting to herself, that this was not going to go nowhere. Then, ep10 comes around, expecting her to move on from this relationship and sticking to her guts. Come to find out, this drama is the same old kdramatropes weve seen before, where the guy gets all the glory in the end. She did not get the arc she deserved. We were basically back to ep 1.
So, by that point, we asked why we wasted our time watching the show. We could have watched something else during that time. Thats how bad ep 10 was. Thus, the negative criticisms are well deserved.

My guess is that fans of actors or the drama itself need to add positive comments so that new viewers will not be turned off when all they see is negative.
I just randomly picked this on my NF, without any expectations because I know that I might drop it halfway. But…
My interpretation of it is, shes not 100% committed to the relationship with JaeEon. So, given the right opportunity, she will likely chest on Jae-Eon. Or that, she will follow the same oath as Jae-Eon, where she will have other guys on the side.
But im sure others would interpret it in a sweet way.
Ok, I know a lot of people hate the ending and how they romanticized PJE. But I think that this wasn't the focus…
Well, thats one way of interpreting the ending.
My interpretation of the ending is that she will cheat next time, when given the right opportunity. Actually, both will cheat. And both will just accept it, as they have been used to it. They will go through that routine few many times. Maybe forever. Coz, as others have pointed out, the heart wants what the heart wants.
How did i get to that conclusion? From the way she almost let go of JE's hands when she saw DH. That's a sign that shes not 100% committed in the relationship. Same with him, he never admitted that he has a girlfriend to the two girls. So, the tendency is there.
We all want to know jae eon's past. Why is he like this?! Has anything happened before with him ??! Why is he…
I love her too on ep9. Na-bi was confident enough to speak her mind then.
But i did not see that confident woman in ep10. Instead, the writer made her pathetic again. Then, she needed a hero to fix her, when she could have fixed her art by herself and her own self along the way. I was looking for that.
She did say she wants him at the very end. But it still felt lacking, it was rushed. It did not get the message across successfully. What i saw was the same Na-bi from the beginning. And it felt like i wasted my time watching it.
We all want to know jae eon's past. Why is he like this?! Has anything happened before with him ??! Why is he…
For me, i really dont want to know about JaeEon's inner thoughts and past.
It wasn't a flaw at all. The drama purposely avoided showing JaeEon's perspective. Because its always been about Na-bi's perspective from the very beginning. Thats what made it unique from the get go.
I am seeing it from her perspective. I guess for others like you, you were looking at it from a romantic approach, which is not wrong. For me, I wished the drama stayed from her perspective and her development. That is what's lacking. That's also the reason, many were disappointed with the drama.
I think Park Jaeon is less bad than how people are describing him. His big problem is miscommunication. He doesn’t…
Thats exactly the problem with this drama. You were able to provide so many good things about the PJE, yet only one thing for Na-bi, and its not even positive. It's what viewers will take away from it.
Where is her development? Why did we not see her stronger and more confident? Thats what i was looking for. But the writer decided to spend the last episode redeeming Park JaeEon. Na-bi got the bad end of the stick.
I have always enjoyed this drama from the perspective of Na-bi. This wasn't supposed to be from the perspective of JaeEon.
Your comments are on point. My reply is more on the drama's impact on viewers.
I've seen many negative comments so I want to add my positive intake! :))) I was a bit unsure about the ending…
You saw too many negative comments, because the writer badly screwed that finale. Not because of who she ended with, but more on a betrayal of everything that has happened in the previous episodes. Those negative comments are justified. The drama deserved those negative comments.
The low rating is really because of the finale episode. It erases everything positive about it. Your review is accurate that this series captured the confusion and indecisiveness of young adults. Everything was fine, exept for ep 10. The writers decided to end it loke a fairytale with happily ever after.
So, i would reverse what you said in the last paragraph. If you want a fairy tale drama, watch this. If you want to see flawed characters, dont watch this as you may end up disappointed.
couldn't agree more. most people really don't take well "slice of life" kdramas.not every drama has to have a…
Yes. That's how I saw it. The fact that PJ got a scene of him realizing that he's no good for her within her eyesight and a scene of him leaving his home straight up says this a kdrama trope. Heck, we didn't even get that for Nabi. With Nabi, we simply got a scene she already left the city. No dramatics there, but with PJ, this was meant to say lets give him a redeeming factor. Let him wallow in his pain, so the audience can sympathize with him. Kdrama trope.
Sure. He may have remained the same, but that's not what the audience saw. The audience saw he wallowed, he left, and he came back for her with loving eyes. Kdrama trope.
Same with the SL, he got a redeeming arc as well. Kdrama trope.
The ending was unfortunately the most realistic I think. She likes him, but she knows he'll make her suffer, but…
But did the message really came across successfully to many viewers? Was it executed well for people to understand what Nabi did?
Coz it didn't to me. Viewers either saw this as happy ending that Song Kang finally got the girl, or that Na-bi is still pathetic. Thats what i got from this.
Ep10 just didn't make sense to me from the previous 9 episodes.
Wow....so you guys think this drama was not good why? Because she didn't end up with the SL, hmmm I don't know…
No. It wasnt because of the SL.
It was more of the lack of character development of the FL. She ended a crappy relationship, and never learned anything from it. Shes back where she started.

It seems scripted.

Ep1 was amazibgly done. I for sure thought the series would flourish thru the end. This last episode just erases all the positive things about it.
I wished Ep1 and some other episodes after were not executed well, this way I wouldn't have this problem.
Sure. He may have remained the same, but that's not what the audience saw. The audience saw he wallowed, he left, and he came back for her with loving eyes. Kdrama trope.

Totally different from the other episodes.
That was straight up kdrama tropes with knight in shining armor hero to the rescue. The male lead changing for the girl.
Coz it didn't to me. Viewers either saw this as happy ending that Song Kang finally got the girl, or that Na-bi is still pathetic. Thats what i got from this.

I have not seen Devil.
I would simply say, this is the cost of getting a happy ending for Park Jae Eon.
I saw 4 of his dramas. My favorite remains Navillera, but i will probably not rewatch it anytime soon.
It was more of the lack of character development of the FL. She ended a crappy relationship, and never learned anything from it. Shes back where she started.
It was also inconsistent from the prior episode.
The way the writer wrote the episode, I interpret the the line as, "Nevertheless, I still am stupid."
I dont blame Na-bi. I blame the writer for making Na-bi dumb, when there was no need to.
