This drama has nothing bad at all, no misunderstandings, no love triangles, no break ups!!! Just Love, Food, Music!!…
I am on episode 6 and I have not been bored at all :3 Then again, I do enjoy slice of life stories! Thanks for letting me know I do not have to worry about things going sour later in the drama :D Also, if you have any recommendations of other dramas where mostly just good things happen, I would appreciate it!
I have no idea where the story is going, but I had the biggest smile on my face while watching the first two episodes. Such a cute, heartwarming drama [so far...?]. Surely shit will hit the fan sooner or later, right? It is a 33 episodes drama. Not that I want bad things to happen, as I am a fan of dramas where mostly only good things happen, but things are going a bit TOO well for the FL [she is such a cutie, btw!].
It is reminded me a bit of Lovely Runner, all with the FL being a fan of the ML, and it turns out the ML is suddenly showing a lot of affection and support towards the FL, just like Im Sol [the fan] and Sun Jae [the idol] in Lovely Runner.
The FL in Hidden Love is my favorite ever, such a green forest of a lady and I aim to be just like her in my next…
Thanks for the heads up! I quite enjoy slice-of-life stories [K-On! being one of my favorite animes and I also had a good time with the first 11 or so episodes of Hometown Cha Cha Cha]. Tbh, it took a really good while for the romance to develop in Hidden Love, so Meet Yourself must be QUITE the slow burn :D
Yep, the little gremlin FL was never portrayed as being too much of a pushover, so she should have told the biker…
I replied to you in a private message, because I ended up mentioning stuff about a bunch of random dramas and that could be considered spoilers. Sorry if that is not okay!
I rewatched Doom, At Your Service this past week and I still really love the leads, even if it is a little frustrating to watch the ML disappear, then the FL disappear [briefly], then they lose their memories, then... I get why it happened that way and why the god girl kept getting in their way, but still... I just wanted to watch them being happy, okay?
The FL is very endearing, sometimes funny. She keeps making random noises [nothing weird, mind you... Just stuff like her "woah"s and some "hmmm..."s and stuff] that please my brain, for some reason.
Also, whenever the ML does something nice to the FL in a dream, or teleport/briefly time travels with her, for her sake, I melt into a puddle. Here we have the literal embodiment of the end of things being a greener flag than a lot of "regular human" MLs out there.
The secondary leads' romance was disappointing, however. FL is out there dating an impeccably-dressed and handsome force of nature and the 2FL is struggling to move on from her boring ass, shaggy-looking crush from her teenager years. That does not feel right. I wish Ji Na/2FL moved on faster so her relationship with Team Leader Cha was better explored.
Just finished it. Mainly came here for the male lead and really enjoyed him because he gradually had to learn…
I also disliked the aunt ;-; I thought I was being irrational, because she is by all means caring and far from the usual hateable parent you see in dramas. But, I did :( The aunt and Na Ji Na's original crush were my least favorites. I also did not like the FL's brother that much.
Any other drama recomendations similar to this, where nothing bad ever happens, no vilains, no misundertanding.…
Hidden Love and Exclusive Fairytale are very low on angst. There is a bit of misunderstanding at one point in HL, but it is not really the frustrating kind and it is understandable in context.
Maybe try Something about 1 Percent [there is one crazy character who makes a clown out of herself and does not get a lot of focus], Gaus Eletronics [very comedy, cute and funny leads], Her Private Life [the 'villains' here are mostly comic relief] and Sh**ting Stars [if there is a villain here, I deleted them from my memory].
Quick question from someone who only watched episode 1:
Is the romance between the dude from the future and the Joseon king or does the queen's soul come back and the dude from the future goes back to his time before the romance starts? I ask because the last romance drama I watched that involved some sort of possession [Oh My Ghost] was very unsatisfying in the romance aspect, because the ML clearly loved the one possessing the body [who eventually left] and not the body's actual owner. So, spoil things to me: How does the romance works here?
the rating is so overrated. I don't know if the reviewers tend to love romantic comedies more than serious kdramas.…
I personally started avoiding 'serious' dramas as they are often filled with hateable characters. The 'heaviest' drama I truly loved was 30 but 17/Still 17, partially because 99% of the characters are likable in spite of the heavy subject matter.
Romance and comedy focused dramas tend to have nicer character :3 Life sucks enough already, I would rather avoid frustrating myself while I try to escape reality.
done watching, it’s truly a masterpiece. A slice of life, slow burn, realistic drama. Actually, there’s so…
The FL in Hidden Love is my favorite ever, such a green forest of a lady and I aim to be just like her in my next life [already failed in this one, lol]. I am really curious about the FL in Meet Yourself now, it will probably be my next watch.
Yep, the little gremlin FL was never portrayed as being too much of a pushover, so she should have told the biker…
Yup. I am with you there. I agree 100% with your rant. I hate cheaters so much, and that is exactly what the creepy biker wanted to turn the FL into.
I really wish they did not play the sad music when the biker gives up on the FL, because while it is true he did not try to SA the FL [like that fucking creepy university senior tried to do], he was also a big creep in his own right.
Maybe you are right and it would have been better if the ML punched him in the face.
The FL here is such a silly goose, with strong gremlin energy. That side of her is toned down a little later on, but it still made it very enjoyable to watch her. Also, was the FL made of honey or what? There were like 4 or 5 people crushing on her through the drama. Well, I suppose she was very cute and charismatic, so it is not really farfetched.
The FL's friend [does she count as the 2FL? I am used to 2FLs being love rivals lol] was very cute too, and woah, did she know how to dress herself in the university days! I liked the FL's gremlin fashion sense, but her friend's fashion was something else.
The ML is a bit boring if compared to the FL. I actually liked the temporary 2ML [the gremlin guy who goes to become an idol, not the FL's friend's bf], because his energy matched the FL's. But, the ML was not a bad character.
After watching both Hidden Love [loved it] and Our Secret [hated it], where the ML had big problems with his father, I was glad the ML's problems with his father were resolved early on, and his father turned out to be quite the cute character! I still think leaving your family behind to try his luck with work is a shitty thing to do, but it paid off and his wife and son forgave him, so my opinion is just that, my opinion.
On the matter of Our Secret, I am so glad the parents/in laws here are all nice. The FL's mother in Our Secret consistently raised my blood pressure. Sure, I may be suicidal, but I do not want to die having a bad time watching a frustrating drama! Anyways, both the FL' and ML's parents were lovely [I am glad FL's dad go too deep into the 'overprotective dad' territory].
Anyways, I really enjoyed this and might rewatch it in the future, for sure. As far as Chinese dramas are concerned, Hidden Love remains my favorite. If I were to rank the five c-dramas I have watched so far, it would be Hidden Love > The Day of Becoming You > Exclusive Fairytale > Love O2O > Our Secret. :D
Why wasn’t FL saying or harshly rejecting the guy who was pursing her even when she said she has a boyfriend.…
Yep, the little gremlin FL was never portrayed as being too much of a pushover, so she should have told the biker guy to fuck off the first time he hit on her. I honestly give kudos to the ML for not feeling insecure again during that incident.
