Ooooh that's a theory I really like

He will probably give himself up to the north to make sure his sister will be fine.
Ah, I feel my heart breaking already

Uhm, the brother was pretty sure not Hwal... so this entire theory doesn't seem right
It could be because we never saw his face very clearly, but from what I could see I sincerely doubt it

It seemed like another actor to me + he was not blind and they've made a point of making him blind across his different lifetimes

It's not that I don't think he is bad. I do. But at the same time I feel sympathy for him - if you think about it, he's a really lonely person and constantly in pain. But he has committed atrocities, true. And maybe they were (I didn't see their faces), but I don't think he killed them because they were witnesses - why would he care whether people know about his past? would he even remember they were there? I think he just needed human blood to recover from the poison and they were closest by (which is just as awful of course).

It's just the way the writers wrote him, which elicits some sympathy. There are many characters in drama world that people plainly hate with a vengeance. But Ok Tae Eul, I just can't seem to hate him no matter what he does, he just seems more and more pitiful to me

part of your theory is still speculation so I won't judge based on that. and yes he killed his brother but we don't know the entire story here (I won't make excuses though). And he is clearly a bad guy but there are still shades even in antagonists - it takes a skilled writer and actor to make people like a bad guy despite what he's done. I'm not saying he should be redeemed though, don't worry

Anyone else hoping for a good ending for Ok Tae Eul? By that I don't necessarily make them a big happy family, but like treat his character with dignity. I don't want them to make him into a 100% bad guy, he's much more interesting in shades of gray. If they just shove everything onto him and kill him off like that I'm gonna feel disappointed because they made me care so much. Although I should say that a large part of that is due to the incredible acting by Lee Joon - props to him!

He obviously can't stay in the south because of the hostage situation, but he just betrayed the north so he can't go back either

Waittt 😳 they added a new name/identity to Soo ho
Ri is the last name of his father, so probably Ri Tae San is his real name, whereas Im Soo Ho is the name he uses for undercover purposes

Yes, I also had that impression at first, but he really is quite alright as the series goes on. And now I'm thinking he's one of the only voices of reason in the series hahaha

Anyone else getting vibes that the prophecy of someone remembering their memories may not necessarily be about…
I think it could be Hwal too. Especially considering what Ok Tae Eul says to the detective. First "... When the one [Bulgasal] next to you is more frightening?" and then about the same person "You don't see its true self because it lost its memories". Of course it could still be about Min Sang Woon, but it seems more logical in the context that he's talking about Hwal...

Uh anyone please enlighten me, I think I kind of lost. Why is that to win the election they have to kill the hostages?…
The population feeling threatened gives the people in power an edge in the elections, the population feeling protected does not. It's a question of what would give them the most advantage in the elections. Of course the presence of spies makes people feel unsafe, but even more so if the spies kill all the students. If the students are released or saved, that makes people feel like the situation is manageable and so they might still vote for the opposition.

who does a delayed CPR to a immortal? dumb directing move. also first time seeing lee joon act, scene stealer.
I don't know, it was quite funny and in some ways a bit satire regarding how other kdramas sometimes treat CPR. And it still makes sense in the context shown.

and yes, best villain I've seen yet!

The story is clear Hawl and Sol had a toxic marriage. Like the villagers, Sol constantly tormented Hawl blaming…
I don't entirely agree it was a toxic marriage. We saw just one moment that was particularly hard for Sol as she'd just lost her baby and in her grief blamed Hwal. I agree they weren't in love, but that does not exclude familial love and affection. They grew up together so I'm sure they at least cared for each other. But their relationship was just very strained from what we could see... I do agree that it's likely there won't be any romance between them.

There might not be love as in being in love, but that does not exclude familial love and affection. They grew up together so I'm sure they at least cared for each other. And when she said that she was angry and distraught. But I agree that they were probably not 'in love'.
