Title Snowdrop Spoiler
I'm still not clear on the role that Soo Ho's dad has to play in this story... At first I thought he would somehow help Soo Ho, but now he's become a ruthless general who doesn't care if his (adopted) son dies - what makes him any different from the female north korean commander? Does anyone have any theories on what his role will be in the rest of the story?

Yes it would have worked for them. But did they really not think of it giving to the opposition party ??
As far as I know/remember, they didn't mention it

Just a thought - wouldn't it have been better to deliver the tape to the opposition party as well? Especially when they knew the tape would be intercepted or not aired at news stations...

umm so can someone tell me whats the screentime for the historical part of drama. I want to watch this but for…
it's not too much, I think it ended in the first episode? if not, it definitely ends in the second one. and once in a while you get a flashback to that time, but that doesn't happen often

Title The Silent Sea Spoiler
Luna saved him.
No, as far as I understood what happened he was locked in with the water, but the force resulted in the air lock being blown and him being catapulted out together with the water, which is why he's kinda lying there with his suit being broken. Luna didn't save him from the inside, but she did find him lying there

Except Soo Ho knows Nam Tae Il's voice since he's spoken to him several times over the phone, which makes it believable
Hehehe, that's fine! When your thesis is finished, you can let me know XD

Why though (sincerely curious)? Just having a tragic backstory doesn't qualify for that, right? Although I'm not sure as to what the concept entails

I guess tastes differ =) I personally agree that boon ok has been the most consistent character, but while I understand her I don't relate to her at all. She's almost too consistent, she doesn't learn from her mistakes. She's immature and petty, and even though I understand why she does what she does I don't think everyone in her shoes would have acted the way she did.

I disagree that soo ho was looking for a reason to defect. but I do agree with it being more believable if Eun Chang So had said it. Regardless, I think Kang might know, but Soo ho doesn't know him on a personal level and has experienced them trying to kill him multiple times despite information pointing that they would be safe. I think that's reason enough for him to take it seriously. In fact, not taking your enemy seriously when they say they want to kill you, regardless of it maybe being a bluff, would be foolish if you are determined to survive.

He's adopted, as they show in episode 10 that Lim (the nothern agency director) brought him home from railway…
I agree! + we still don't know his motives, why wouldn't they unless they are in soo ho's favor?

I think I would react in the same way though. reasonable doubt you already have + your enemy saying they're going to kill you? Of course he could've been more wary, but it's hard to imagine a situation where Nam tae il would've said exactly what he said without meaning it, it's not like he can be tricked to say that

I'm also pretty pessimistic. The one hope we have is the opposition party winning + the scheme Soo Ho's father…
Ah, no problem! The ANSP had hatched a plan with the North to abduct professor Han I Seop (a key figure of the opposition) and make him pose in pictures shaking hands with the North. The north would get 300 million, the current administration would get an advantage in the elections since the public is still very much against communism and north korea, so seeing the opposition shaking hands makes it seem as if the opposition themselves are communists. I doubt that the opposition is truly communist, but they definitely had a more social democratic program than the current administration (which is more conservationist and capitalist I guess? ).
Since the plan failed due to the ship and the professor being killed, and the spies escaping to the dorm when being chased resulting in this hostage situation, their new plan is what you probably know

The '13 virgins have to die' was a prophecy made by some shaman. The three wives went to that shaman to get their and their husbands' fortunes told, and Young Ro's stepmother heard that exactly 13 virgins need to die for her husband to become president (and any other scenario would result in his failure and Nam Tae Il's gain). At first Nam Tae Il's wife was relieved, because no way would so many women die, but then the hostage situation came up and she became worried. So Nam Tae Il's wife doesn't want them to die, or wants more or less than 13 people to die, but she's worried that the hostage situation might end up doing that. Young Ro's mother wants no more and no less to die, because only that way she gains more influence.

It still has a basis in history, did the opposition win in 1987? Because I'm quite confused to which is which

I think his survival chances are higher with the opposition. The current administration has admitted to wanting to kill the spies (and perhaps the students as well). The opposition party winning would remove those people from power, also removing the need for the hostage situation and allowing Kang Moo and the students to testify to what happened - which could result in Soo Ho being alive (whether he is captured and imprisoned or not is another matter)

Can anyone give a theory about how So Hoo can be saved?Neither NK nor SK are going to let him liveI don’t even…
I'm also pretty pessimistic. The one hope we have is the opposition party winning + the scheme Soo Ho's father clearly has planned somehow helping him. Since we don't know anything about his father's motivations, this still needs to be resolved and has the biggest potential to be a game changer
