Just because someone negates your comments doesn’t mean their angry. I could be saying the same thing to you. That you took my response to you as personally but I won’t cause I don’t know you. When I was in college we’d have discussions and debates no one thought the other person was angry or it was deep rooted personal thing. It was just a discussion. It’s the theme I’ve seen here on my drama list that as soon as someone has a differing opinion they are angry or it’s a personal attack. It’s not.
I was giving perspectives. I don’t see the need to attack anyone on social media. Doesn’t get anywhere. But thank you for the dialogue and discussion. It lead to each of us seeing each other’s points. I have a different perspective and seems you doo too. I hope you have a great day.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
Like I stated earlier. Trials two significant events are being looked at. Why does the BLM movement have to have the same outcome as the Hong Kong? Two different countries and cultures.
Also what does trump's opinion on a group have to do with anything. He is ignorant and I frankly believe a person who cuts resources for a pandemic probs won't have the capacity to understand why the BLM movement is so significant. It's not for you or to trump but to many more, and that's what matters. Also the fact that more officials of differing backgrounds are being elected is change in itself. Also idk why BLM would affect the trade of the US, not the point. Also many people who don't believe racism is a thing and the BLM proves it is with video evidence.
You keep saying violence. Like I said let's not paint a whole group as violent. Individuals make a group and I'm sure you wouldn't want someone painting you or any cause you stand for as violence based on a group of people.
Also Fairfax County, Virginia, an officer was charged with three counts of assault and battery after using a stun gun on a peaceful black protester and a the officers who pushed over a peaceful 75 year old man protesting was also charged. Events that would've been overlooked.
The movement has not ended still on-going so just continue to watch and maybe you'll see that one outcome you keep trying to focus on.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
So you believe rastas are a belief. Cool.
Yeah mockery is a form of ignorance. You're telling me the writers researched Rastas and said hmmm they accept with people now and their beliefs were pretty bizarre before let's make a character about this. It would be different if his character unpacked the problem of the rasta, it didn't it was simply a gimmick. Just like when white people play Asian people/Black people it's a gimmick/mockery. It's ignorant. Like I said didn't say mockery is equivalent to racism.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
Yeah of course they don't live my life. We live in different cultures. But when people make a movies/shows, they do research. You can't say they don't know anything, let's give them more credit than that. I don't hold people who do not know accountable, but we can't say all the watchers or makers don't know. I feel like people are pretty intelligent and understand the references. I see you like this show and want people to watch it. I hope people do watch it and form their own opinion. My opinion or anyone's should never be their starting point. Just like the news or reporting on BLM should never be anyone's starting point. Watch the show and form your opinion. March and form your own opinion/read people who marched videos and form your own opinion. I love discussions like this cause we can see both sides, pick each other's brains.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
Fist please stop putting words in my mouth. Never called the drama as a whole racist. You keep twisting the narrative, first with the screaming and now this.
Why are you trying to lump the Rastafari with the BLM movement? There are extremists in every group. Look at the KKK. And you referenced their old beliefs from the 70s. Like with anything people change their beliefs, are you saying that religion, in general, is the same as it was years ago??? I don't know maybe in the 70s where segregation was still a thing they'd have a different mindset than now. Just a thought. A lot of people are saying let's unpack why they feel the need make his whole character a gimmick. From his clothes to his dreads. I think at this point we won't agree with anything. That's fine, but stop putting words in my mouth. Also people who have discussions about this and don't agree with you are not always screaming. It's a discussion.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
You said what's the difference. There's a huge difference and your analogy to black people doing the same thing stems from nothing. Like I said did you march? Where you there? So the reference of black people hurting other people of different races in this instance just boggles my mind. There's is a difference between someone with authority kneeling on someone else's neck without. Also, you keep clumping all the protests in one. There were peaceful protests and there weren't. People are allowed to be angry after that brutal murder. Like I said you can't simply say "I would do this or that" when you don't live their lives or their circumstances. It's like me talking about what I'd do during slavery. I never lived it so how could I speak on that.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
What are you talking about. You first say black people used violence in the same way. Not true, don't bend the truth. You keep saying black have attacked other people cause of their skin color, I really want to know what you are talking about. I've never seen that in any of these marches and the reports have not said that as well. Pretty sure if that happened every news station would be reporting it cause yeah that'd be a problem. Are you trying to justify why that man died in such a animalistic brutal way?
You keep saying black people vandalised the stores. People in general vandalised the stores. People did, not just one group of people. Why are you trying to paint it that way?
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
So you are saying me not explaining in this instant means I stopped explaining it at all. No the BLM movement is a statement that our lives matter, it's not a statement saying every black person needs to explain to everyone why their lives matter roo. Why do I need to cite references where I have discussed this for you. I've had discussions in person with many people, you want me to list them here? I've had discussion during college, you want me to list them here? I've had discussion when I marched with other people, should I have recorded that as proof and list it here?
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
No a lot of people who have started these protests now and in the past have sat down with governors. That would not have happened if not for the BLM protests. I don't know what's vague about black people having equality. We've asked for a fare trial for the black man who jogged and we are getting one. We asked for further investigation for the man who was kneeled on and it's in the works. I am not going to sit here and speak on Hong Kong issue cause frankly I'm not them. I have not had a chance to speak to someone there. It's really easy to say you all should do this when you are not being affected directly. I'm sure people back in the past thought the same thing, that the marches were vague. That it wouldn't amount to anything. It's a beautiful thing when it does, even the smallest thing.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
Lol the fact you are trying to simplify what happened is scary. The point is to bring awareness to problems still happening, if that caused BLM to trend on twitter for daysssss (lol 5 minn?) then cool. It brought awareness. BLM is not new, never has been. It's been around since 2013 as a #, but around longer as a response to a problem. Also are you saying that his death was a simple act of violence? I'm really trying to understand your comment.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
Yeah some people are exhausted cause that's all they've been doing all their lives...educating people. I could list the reasons why and I could say xyz but will you see my point. I don't know cause you've been saying I've been screaming for 4-5 comments when in fact I haven't . I love the discussion we are having because you stated an opinion in the fullest and I said a response. We do not have to agree on everything, but please don't undermine people who have to live through ignorant and racist times. Please don't undermine a movement when there are so many layers to it. It's not fare to them or yourself.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
Yeah, no one is screaming.
Also, were you there protesting so how do you know it was BLM only? A narrative people who are removed from the issue like to take. There have been many statements from people who have actually gone to the protests who have stated other people initiated the riots. There have been many peaceful protests. I've been to numerous.
The fact that you associate me with being aggressive speaks volumes. How do you know it won't last? Have you gone to the future? Marching on segregation changed things. Marching for anyone to ride a bus changed things. Marching for anyone to have a higher education changed things. It was never quick or in that instance but it changed later.
Also, I am not going to educate Mathew Ollis a grown man on how his comment was problematic. I think anyone could guess clumping a whole group of people into leftist when you don't even know them is problematic.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
Cool all of Korea could careless. Never said they did. I'd hope they'd want to though, cause a whole country shutting of criticism doesn't really go far.
Never said we are more revered. The US has a whole lot of issues, aka why I talked about the BLM being something that can enact change. I live in the south so I think I know that. No onse is foreceflully pusing anything why do you keep saying that. We are having a discussion. We have been, is what I thought. Just because I disagree with you does not mean our DISCUSSION is a heated argument. Also every country besides Africa as you want to quote has done colonialism and benefited from it. So miss me with that America is the worst of it all, let's not try to put other countries on a pedestal. Each have their own problems.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
So you are saying that what's happening in the states and hong kong is oaky? They should swallow their oppression and deal with it? Wow just wow. Just because one thing you did or are doing is not going to change something (a whole country) is crazy. Also the BLM did cause some changes, cases that were not looked at are being relooked at more heavily. It might not be a huge change but's something. Something is better than nothing. And that is what you are asking people to do...nothing. Again no one is creaming here.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
Lol who is screaming? You keep saying that. Just because someone has differing opinions does not make them fake woke. You went from 0 to 100 very quickly. Take a moment and digest other people's comments.
Herd mentality, mhmmm okay. I think the responses here are a good example of what herd mentality is.
Also, you said in your last statement " think that they understand Korea/Asia because they watched a few kdramas". No one said that. Read the comments. It'd be wrong for anyone to judge a group of people based on a drama or an event. Like what you just did, judged me based on these comments. So stop talking yourself into circles.
Here comes an ignorant person who doesn't care to unpack the glaring problems in this drama. Also, that statement…
When was my comment negative. Please re-read it. You are the one who said I was bombarding the comment section when my initial comment was a response to someone else. Did I go out of my way and say "the show is trash no one watch it"? No that's what you've mad eyourself believe. If a person responds after they've been called xyz, that's not a personal attack. It's me defending my thoughts. Yeah there is enough negativity doesn't mean I'm not going to unpack your remarks.
Although I must admit that there are some questionable characters in BR, I really do not understand where the…
The fact that you just referenced BLM and and called it insignificant speaks for itself. You have a lot of unpacking to do with yourself and why a movement threatens you so much. It might not make a difference today or tomorrow but it sure will later in the future. Just like how people protested in the past, did not make a difference right then but much later laws were changed. I for one did not bombard the comment Mathew did. So you trying to say I did is pretty hypocritical. The fact that my comment struck you enough to write an essay about "social justice warriors" meant my comment bothered you too. That's good. Think about that.
