Guess they can't have the leads exhibiting anything resembling a healthy dynamic and so went with the "choose deceit for no reason" story route.
So from the ending I gather that it is "ordained" that the girl must live through her day in the way that we see it, as doing so did allow her to exit the loop (pressumably after having lived through 31/3 as we just saw). However, since the guy at the café doesnt make it to the 1st of April, he not only must ensure the girl lives through 31/3 in the way that we witnessed, but he must also do something further?
