No, LBY was not implying that CSS did wrong or misunderstood him. He was only saying that 5 years ago he was wrong…
Thanks so much for working through this with me I like your answer to question 1. It pleases me to learn that she did not do wrong. CSS did misunderstand LBY when they first met. For example, she thought he was ratting her out to her dad for exposing Uncle Dong, but what LBY said was an actual compliment. She also thought LBY had revealed her secret-- that she rigged the bridge collapse-- to her parents, but we know it was Old Madame Wan who wrote the letter. CSS gave LBY multiple chances to become transparent about his identify and personal struggle after she deduced his real identity, predicted the massacre, and knew the wedding would not take place. She offered to partner with him. I did not think she had misunderstood him related to his abandonment of her. I also suspected, re: second question, that a conversation between LBY & CSS might have been edited out. I was reflecting on the previous statement, I think Empress said it, that one cannot undo the knot in their heart alone, that they need someone to help them remove it to live in the present moment. I was thinking that LBY's words to CSS in the underground dungeon paired with her momentary fear that he might be dead blew out the knot in her heart. Also, there was a foretelling statement early in Part 1 when LBY said that he and CSS were both stuck in the past. He believed that he could look forward to living in the future with her, and in the end, both were able to let go their pasts.

I think Sun -relative to CP’s wife-stole the CP’s tiger tally, LbY subbed with Huo tiger tally at Wan’s send-off. Marquis Yue paid Sun to steal CP’s tiger tally to discredit CP bc he didn’t want 5th princess to marry a Yue. Later LBY stole the CP’s original tiger tally back from Sun. LBY used CP tiger tally to implicate CP to get him demoted. I think the soldiers in red were fighting for LBY.

I need help from my MDL’ers. I have rewatched LLTG many times->10x- I am missing something and maybe you can help. After their reconciliation, in final battle to protect (Third) Crown Prince, Huo Buyi says Shaoshang won’t misunderstand him this time. He said she had changed. I get that she switched focus to who was kind to her and forgave parents, sorta tolerated grandma, and now had forgiven him. I get that he regretted that he hurt her by abandoning her. He had assumed she would understand him -but he did not understand her. He was not transparent with her to rely on her and didn’t believe in her ability to partner with him to meet the challenges. He had juxtaposed their relationship with his commitment to avenge his clan and chose to end their fated relationship. What is he implying that she did wrong? Why is he saying she misunderstood him before but she has changed and won’t misunderstand him now?
One more question. Backing up a bit to the scene following the explosion when Shaoshang is wailing because she thinks Zicheng died, she says a series of statements like he regretted and she forgave him. I get those. She also syas to herself- in her mental dialogue, that he said he would treat her well to compensate for the suffering he caused her. When did he say that?
Thanks
