It seems 6 would be a D and 5 or below would be the F. Makes sense to me . Maybe I'll switch to that method. It's not as though my one rating's going to make any difference anyway. Just bugs me that people see a 7 and think "oh what a terrible rating!" No, that's a C, and C is average, right? I'll reserve the right to hand out 1s and 2s to stinkers that cause me to drop them out of revulsion. lol In other words, there are degrees of awfulness too. :) If a show moves me to drop it then it's obviously a failure.

Great flick. Really enjoyed it. Fascinating relationship dynamics going on.
I definitely felt the emotional connection between these friends, but have to disagree with those below who see this as a great friendship. It was particularly sad to watch the shorter one self-sabotage to such a degree.
I think their feelings are deeper than one friend to another. Neither ever had a woman or showed interest the entire film.
Some of the greatest belly-laughs ever! The aparatus they dangled outside their classroom windows was comedic genius and hysterically funny.
Acting from both MLs was excellent, as well as from all supporting actors.
This is a good one.

Right, totally get that good directors and actors IMPLY sex without explicitly showing it. But I have already seen lots of comments on pages here referring to some extremely tame intimate scene that showed NO butts or much of anything else before fading out as an "NC" scene. Meaning No Children if I understand correctly, which makes me laugh, and also which makes me assume the majority of MDL members are very young or very prudish or both.

OK, but if I might ask, how do you come up with 8 being "below average?" The average on a ten point scale is 5, right in the middle. It just seems to have evolved here at MDL that there are no rating points below 7, but there are 6.5 rating points below 7. That's what I'm having difficulty understanding.

To your second point, I have the opposite take on MDL, especially since I'm very new here: I'm amused by all the commenters who rise up in horror at the inclusion of a love scene. I don't call most BL intimate scenes "sex" scenes because that term should be reserved for scenes that imply actual, believable sex. Most BL "sex" scenes are more like "laugh" scenes.
To your third point: We DON'T see bare asses in BLs with the one half-second KP exception I mentioned, so what do you mean by that? Is there an overload of bare-ass BL scenes I am unaware of?

I do my little part to bring things into aligmment: Absolutely terrible shows like this that I drop get a 1 or 2 from me for two reasons: If it's so bad I don't even want to keep watching as a time-waster, then in my world it really IS a 1 or 2; plus, that 1 or 2 will incrementally lower the inflated ratings of 9.5 or 10 some people here will give this thing. For shows I am just OK with to ecstatic over I use the ABCDF approach.

The only "nekkid play" I've ever seen in a BL was KinnPorsche and that was a bare butt for half a second. Do you really think this show portrays "adult relationships?"

Exactly. 7.6 is a B+ and this should be a solid D at this point. Awful.

On a ten-point scale a 7.7 is the equivalent of a B+ school grade, which is pretty damn good. I think the rating for this show is way too high.

I admire your use of all 10 points on the rating scale. Most MDLers appear to use only 7-10. I agree totally, the way I use it, a 5.5 is a C+. I don't watch C+ shows, because average isn't good enough, but that's how I rate; just like an American ABCDF school grading system.

Freaking wonderful. One of my faves. Yoo Ah In is so talented and charismatic.

This is one of my favorite "Little BLs That Could..."

Charming, beautifully acted, understated, and yes, romantic too. As much about awakening love as it is about awakening sexuality. To those who think is is just about friends or unrequited love, what part of "when he said that to me, he was so cute," or the returned kiss on the lips from Sakura to Yuma by the campfire, or "I have decided to cherish you..." or "should we get couple's shirts?" or Sakura spending every single day with Yuma, even when Yuma was in summer school and he was not, do you not understand? lol

To me, Yuma already knows, and Sakura is coming to know, that they love each other way beyond the love of best friends for one another.

Anyway, great short series. Highly recommended.

Number 1 best drunk scene of all BL time; Kang Eun Bin was an incredibly real wasted dude, and didn't overact the slurring and bleariness so many BL actors do. I've been drunk a lot in my life. KEB nailed it.

Back for a second watch after a long time.
Easily one of the best BLs ever made. Subtle, quiet, excellent acting from every actor, natural dialogue, delivered without hystrionics or scenery-chewing.
Jo Hyuk Doon as DaeWoon is perfection.
The lovemaking scene in black profile against powder blue sheer curtains and blue backlighting was breathtakingly beautiful.

This has been #3 on my best BLs list, and it will maintain its position after this watch.

I can only conclude that you are insane. This is one of the best BLs ever.

This was a real misfire. Too bad, because the core premise is fascinating. But the implausibles begin to pile up from the second they go to see the doctor, and they don't stop until the end of the film. Also, given how ignorant and cruel everyone was, including the doctor who would have been charged with malpractice in the real world, this should have been set in the 1950s, not today. Modern treatment of this condition, and Taiwan IS a very modern country, would not have allowed for ANY of the major plot points that drove the story. No. Way.

Because of that, I couldn't take any of it to heart because it felt like some kind of fantasy world featuring fantastical characters who made fantastical choices for no reason other than that's what was in the script. Which is too bad, because there's some really good acting here.

I would recommend this only if you are familiar with the topic at the core of the plot, if you can watch it free, and if you need a good laugh.

4/10 for the high production values. Otherwise 1/10.
