I have to say that you hit the spot with this review. You described your observations so well that for a moment I thought you were reading my mind. It's really sad what indifference and excessive censorship and control can do to a promising and long-awaited project.
I have to share my observations so far, and a little rant (?) I love drama, actors, everything its just that I have to share this with someone.
As much as I love LYF and I ship him with CZ, I have to admit that he is getting annoying. During this second life we see that he took certain "steps" to keep CongZi safe, but honestly that is not enough. Idk what is he thinking especially when he knows that history WILL repeat itself, since that is how it is with things you are destined to do/have. Does he really think, him, the omnipotent Sage, that the simple necklace is enough to help CZ endure all that events in the sect? A necklace that can easily be torn off the neck, even lost? I can't describe how scared I get whenever she is bullied by someone that they will just take the necklace and *poof* all that "hard work" will be lost. Couldn't he have made something else? He is so indecisive, does he want CZ as a wife or as a disciple? So many years passed and she still does nothing. He is just ruining her life and her potential talent, and all that gossiping, but he only thinks about himself. And when she rebels a bit, all he says is "I am here, you have me." Well sorry dude, but you've been poisened for God knows how long, another lifetime? and u barely manage to rescue CZ in time when it is most critical. As much as I like him, he seems to be stuck with that character development. LIke say it OPENLY, don't send some hidden messages and then do NOTHING.
Also, did they all forget that there are still spies in the sect, since the time of the first CZ? They are just soo focused on this "new" CZ that they forget there could be thousands of spies by this time. That grey clothed Lan Qiren (cant remember his name), I don't really understand what it is, could it be that he is enchanted with her instead? Good for you that she thinks about shifu as much as she does, if I was her Nanhua would not exsist.

Yes and pls don't listen to the "general opinion". Watch it, see it for yourself and then decide if you would continue or not. It is a slow burn, but that's just how most of these xianxia dramas are. I forgot when some drama made me this hyped for the upcomming episodes.
