ok so i am at EP5 and probably shouldnt have started before all EPs are out bcs i can sense it will drive me insane lmao. my latest insane k-drama run was WTPR (yes HNJ kinda caught my eyes back then alrdy) and after that i have only been into c-dramas. i saw some awful comments on twt about how ML is ugly and such. i wanna support both leads so i decided to watch the drama. oh turned out im about to be driven insane as said above lol saying it twice i know. the drama so far is not perfect. there are flaws and plot holes but those are minor things - the most important thing is this drama takes me back to peak vintage classic cliché k-dramas era. it has this Destined With You vibe combined with Rooftop Prince. oh i am a sucker for such plots. and it has every element and detail i miss seeing from k-dramas. its very fulfilling and refreshing in a way altho i have experienced them many many times before. it feels good to hop on this 'romcom' ride well-knowingly it will reach to heartbreak later lmao and possibly unhappy ending too but yea i am kinda screwed. too late for me to step back now. hope it continues to maintain this level until the end.

and that AU end credit is soooo satisfying actually

ep39 - despite weird editing of scenes that is still going on, Linghe and Xiwei did so well. It is believable they are deeply in love like so natural.

Hope they meet again in a modern project

i'd say a bit of everything but all didnt last long except for hidden identity that got revealed like at half show

I am with you. Many people will say 'character development' but i dont really buy it. If it was, then our feelings towards the characters should also be developed. I wont drop the series bcs I love Lin'an part way too much. Lately I have started to feel some sort of detachment towards our CP due to lack of screentime and the jumping here and there scenes idk how to explain but everything has seemed off and almost like a mess. Anyway its just my opinion and im just glad to see some like-minded comments.

also i wish Mr Jin could just chill with his one-sided love srsly idk if in the novel he has also fallen this hard for her i think its really weird.. why cant it just be platonic between men and women!? not every man needs to fall for the FL you know..

they had to kill off Man Di and replaced him with some NPC almost🤧 i want my original 4 idiots back. why couldnt they just adapt this part from the novel?
