just watched this with my 9 years old brother today, when i tell you, i've never seen him more frustrated about what a person in a movie is doing than today😂🤣 both of us decided that this is a 8/10 since it made us laugh really hard hahaha
I beg everyone who reads this comment. If you care about better representation darker skin people, please do not…
okay, first of all, i don't wanna start an online argument because that's what i hate the most BUT: you do understand that what you said was really rude to jennie, right? it might be true but it sounds like you're blaming her and not the fvcked up society we live in i'm pretty sure you would react the same way i did if someone said something like that about one of your favourite "entertainer actors/actresses" if we can call her that
"it's really easy for you to be dismissive when someone of your racial background or skintone is probably always portrayed in a positive light in tv shows" yes, i am white but think for a second, the person writing this comment could've been dark skinned yk, you would sound pretty dumb to that person then, wouldn't you?
i have watched enough thai dramas and have done enough research to know what the society is like there. i know all that, and what can i do about it? i don't really get what you're trying to get from this conversation? it's not like any of us can change the disgusting view some people have on people different than them
i also don't really get what you mean by "jennie is negatively impacting dark skin women", she's literally just being herself, yes she might be putting on a show but as far as i know, she is as she shows herself on camera. many dark skinned women ARE masculine and it's not wrong to be a masculine woman! the problem isn't them being masculine or not, the problem is the society we live in and it's sadly not something we can change
see, this is why i HATE talking, especially arguing about race with people... it's just a skin color! a person is a person no matter their skin color, religion, sexuality, gender etc! i hope we agree on this
i've honestly never heard of those words jezebel, mammy and minstrel show but i guess i know what they mean now (you wouldn't expect a kid whose third language is english to know those words, would you)
as you said "they don't have any jezebels portrayals in thai media atm, but the mistrel shows are way too numerous at this point" that is true, but once again, when you talk about something like this again, please try make it sound less rude bcz it really sounded like you were blaming only jennie in the first comment. i'm sure she also doesn't like how they're making her represent but that's our society for you, can't do anything about it

ummm i really don't know what to say to this?? why wouldn't we support her if she's a literal queen? so we shouldn't love her just because dark skinned thai women wouldn't answer with "jennie panhan" if you asked them who they idolize?? is that what you're trying to say?! and if it is, i truly feel sorry for you for having that kind of mindset, please don't ever comment something like this ANYWHERE because you're just embarrassing yourself
thanks
