She looks exactly her age. The romance between the two is something that I cannot comprehend. The pressure to…
absolutely, the story literally wouldn’t change if they made FL’s character actually in the mid to late 40s… just say Haeyi is her little sister’s kid or something. let everybody acknowledge the age gap, because it does not change a thing. romance between a mid 30s man and a mid 40s woman is nothing weird, idk why the showrunners had to make FL the same age-ish as ML…
I thought she was in her 40s (and was supposed to be that in the series not 30) so it didn't bother me at all…
in the drama, it’s been mentioned that NHS is too young to be the mother of a high schooler, which i’m 100% sure people won’t comment on that if she’s actually 40+ like you said.
also, they even casted another actress to play her younger self, when it’s supposed to be barely 10 years ago… i swear your face at 30 won’t look that drastically different when you’re 40.
i would love to keep watching this, and just like you, imagine she’s supposed to be in her mid 40s, but it just doesn’t add up 😂 the story would’ve gone SO much smoother if the show just acknowledged that NHS is mid 40s, and build the story from then on. god knows Choi Chiyeol desperately needs an older woman to take care of him and love him tenderly.
I thought she was in her 40s (and was supposed to be that in the series not 30) so it didn't bother me at all…
i didn’t watch Our Blues, but how old was Lee Byunghun’s character supposed to be in the show? if he’s playing a guy in his mid 40s++, shouldn’t be too weird right?
speaking of Lee Byunghun, ICYMI, some people Did feel icky at his age gap with Kim Taeri in Mr. Sunshine, as they’re 20 years apart (in real life). but… they’re playing characters similar to their actual age in the story, so there’s no disconnect between how they look, and what they’re playing as.
the problem here is NOT the age gap between Jeon Doyeon and Jung Kyungho! it’s how Jeon Doyeon, a perfectly normal-looking 50 year old woman, doesn’t look like a mid 30s character she’s playing in this story.
gimme a break, she was even calling Sooah’s mum “unnie”! Nam Haengseon is supposed to be younger than all of the mums because Haeyi is her elder sister’s kid, yet she just doesn’t look that young.
I feel the same way. It would have been better, if they'd consciously portrayed a younger man falling for an older…
totally agreed, this would play so much better IMO when the show actually acknowledges the age gap between the two because FL is a great actress, but let’s not kid ourselves here and say she looks 35 lol
I thought she was in her 40s (and was supposed to be that in the series not 30) so it didn't bother me at all…
yes that’s what i meant, SJK is casted because he has a baby face. it would still be better for Kim Dojun’s actor to be an actual 20 years old man instead of a guy pushing 40, but i understand why they chose SJK, because he actually looks young.
I thought she was in her 40s (and was supposed to be that in the series not 30) so it didn't bother me at all…
her character age shouldn’t be 40s, during the flashback when her niece was first brought to her, she was still a young athlete… i’m thinking early 20s. let’s say she was 25.
and then around 10 years have passed, now her niece is a high school student. she should’ve been 35 in the current timeline.
she would’ve been great as a mid 40s, because again i’ve stated that she looks great for a 50 year old woman. but she’s not passing as a mid 30s here. 10 years is quite significant when you’re still below 50.
the thing with kdrama casting older actors to play younger characters is, a lot of them look way younger than their real age... nothing to do with being a man or a woman. it still totally sucks for SJK as an almost 40 to play 20 yr old Kim Dojun in Reborn Rich but it’s not like i don’t understand why.
FL looks way too old for her character in the story…
seeing that according to the flashback, she was a young athlete when her niece was around 5 years old ish, and about 10 years have passed since then (niece is currently a high schooler) so she should be mid 30s right?
the actress looks great for a 50 year old, but definitely too old looking to be playing this role. why are kdramas like this…
about the ending and the connection btwn Dojun and Hyeonwoo:
the Dojun that existed has always been Hyeonwoo post-rebirth, bc otherwise Minyeong wouldn’t have remembered his words about, “you look different than the Prosecutor Seo that I knew”. DJ only said that because he already knew MY from his past life as HW
about the ending and the connection btwn Dojun and Hyeonwoo:
HW really went back in time and became DJ. it wasn’t a dream, their two lives were just interconnected… they’re the same person.
without living life as HW, DJ won’t be able to get where he was. too many of his decisions relied on him having knowledge of the future. most importantly, without living life as HW, DJ would probably just end up like his other rich family members… completely lacking in empathy and creativity. HW’s experiences humbled DJ and shaped him into the DJ that Grandpa entrusted Soonyang to.
without living life as DJ, HW wouldn’t have repented. he wouldn’t have learned that blind loyalty is a horrible thing; you must always have a bottom line, and you have to stick to your principles. HW’s sufferings throughout his life made him jaded; it’s from living as DJ that HW learned to fight back and have confidence in himself again.
for me was the: So Yi - You know in your heart that i was not your daughter! Mama Jin: Yeah, a mom always recognize…
so trueeeee lolll im not sure if i have any sympathy for her, she treats everybody like crap and can’t even recognise her long lost daughter. so much for loving buyeon :/
i just can’t get over how jin hogyeong let soyi that b###h got away??? soyi knew who buyeon is and jin hogyeong’s first instinct was not to capture her and torture her to death til she confesses but let her leave?? just like that?? there are many plot holes but this one has got to be the most annoying lol soyi needs to die like last month
this is such… an unbearably boring drama. ML has the flattest facial expressions ever, he doesn’t have any personality whatsoever and seeing him talk is such a chore. FL; hyeri is cute but that’s the extent of it i guess? i find absolutely zero chemistry btwn the two leads, didn’t find their relationship worth swooning, and basically snoozed 80% of the time i’m watching this. nothing ever happened in this! u can watch ep 1 and skip right to ep 16 basically & still understand everything😭
i do feel like it’s sad that JBH ended up returning to his own body, and my heart clenched when the king remarked…
noo JBH didn’t fall in love with the queen! they just shared a body, that’s all. one might argue that JBH fell in love with the king, but i sort of disagree — i think he & the queen was all mixed up and the love for the king was largely the queen’s feelings.
yes, JBH ended up leaving the body, giving it back to the queen. it ended happily and they all learned something from the incident though, so all is good 😄
the FL has got to be the most unbearable character ever. i can’t believe she wants to get married even though she has the mentality of a PRETEEN. seeing her constantly put on her signature annoying pouty face is going to give me nightmares for weeks to come!!! she basically does nothing but complain. if things don’t go her way, instead of outright voicing it to her fiance, she sulks alone waiting for him to figure it out himself. and the fiance is DENSE as hell… this started out cute but became so much worse as this couple kept on making the worst decisions ever. the only thing i got from this is that they should NOT marry!!!
a great slice of life drama, though it’s not my absolute favourite bc of how bleak it gets most of the time. misaeng NAILS all the feels, every little interaction between the cast felt so meaningful and adds a lot into the story. i do feel like it’s way too depressing all the way til ep 19 though, but it all paid off bc the ending was really really really sweet
i do feel like it’s sad that JBH ended up returning to his own body, and my heart clenched when the king remarked…
also, when JBH briefly returned to the present and then got back to the queen’s body, and he started thinking in the queen’s voice, that’s when the dormant queen’s soul woke up, and their personality started mixing.
the queen’s soul was probably so heartbroken and so torn at first that she hid herself away deep inside, but woke up after the coma. since it’s her own body, of course she’s going to have a huge influence on it, even though JBH largely had the final say in things. i guess this is why she ended up sleeping with the king, while JBH thought it’s just a dream. the queen’s desires leaked out & she took over the body, and JBH was only a bystander then.
it’s evident that the queen was aware of what’s been going on around her, bc when JBH returned to the present at last, she wasn’t confused at all. she knew what had been happening, and im sure her love for the king were the driving force behind her body’s actions. and in the end, the queen started taking up JBH’s mannerisms and habits, further proving that she and JBH had joint control of the body ever since she woke up from the coma.
also, they even casted another actress to play her younger self, when it’s supposed to be barely 10 years ago… i swear your face at 30 won’t look that drastically different when you’re 40.
