i watched this movie back in 2011/2012, right before i got into asian dramas or saw the hunger games (lol) and it really stunned me. i was a 15 years old horror-virgin so i think the plot combined with the rawness of characters who were my age affected me so much i couldn't sleep for almost 3 days. after that traumatic first time expercience i've rewatched this movie quite a lot of times with my friends or by myself and i loved it every single time. and also i've had the biggest crush on kazuo/masanobu ando throughout my highschool years lol.
interestingly enough i've never seen the sequel after reading the negative comments back then bc i was scared it would ruin the first movie for me but now i'm considering it thanks to this article :) time for a rewatch i guess!
the first few episodes were really messy and i thought the writing was bad, the lines and conversations felt so unnatural and i cringed a lot. but after getting to know the side characters i became attached. i literally skip main couple's some scenes (esp kangwoo's tbh his acting is very questionable) the rest are so much more fun lol
honestly dots was such a mediocre drama except for the two main actors' popularity and chemistry. moon lovers could be so so much better. it felt all over the place and left me really disappointed. but i guess both of these dramas were popular and had an impact so they deserve their placements.
it felt so incomplete? idk overall there were great aspects like the scenery and acting of some certain actors, etc but so many things bothered me tbh. i'm left with questions in my head. it wasn't bad but i don't think i would rewatch in the future. still i'm upset that it ended and i have nothing to watch on mon-tue ;__;
