Title Against the Current Spoiler
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK 🤡🤣I honestly feel like I;m being trolled right now. Listen, I was fine with the marriage…
OH MY GOD THANK YOU FOR SAYING WHAT I WAS THINKING. I'm seriously considering dropping this drama because THERE IS NO WAY TO JUSTIFY THIS. If he loves her like he claims he does HOW CAN HE DRUG HER??? completely disregarding what she feels, thinks, wants? It's like what he really wants, deep down, is a doll to play with as he pleases because from where I'm looking he disrespects and disregards everything about her and just wants to PLEASE himself by having a wife and all he cares about is himself and his own desires. His claims of "love" don’t justify anything in his behavior. What about her happiness? This is not love. Not in the slightest. Wasn’t his first wife as a victim of arranged marriage forced to be with him enough? Like he took no notes from the lesson of that fiasco at all and he had already ruined the life of one woman. I lowkey wish the FL would make his life miserable and bring him to ruin now. And even if he went through HUMONGOUS REDEMPTION ARC I still hope she’d tell him NO and end up with the Scholar.

And I can't stand this drama putting that romantic music and forcing those pseudo "romantic" elements into scenes now as if everything that he did is okay somehow simply by putting something like a bath scene when he's shirtless. It’s like someone immature is playing with barbie dolls, trying to romanticize criminal behavior. And of course the script will keep pushing our heroine to fall in love and by the end "all will be well" but, honestly, I cannot forgive him. I cannot let his actions pass. Those wanna-be romantic scenes make me like, seriously, nauseous. Because it's forcing her to comply and bow down to him forcing her to marry him. Like she has no choice and all of what she's worked so hard for in her life has been taken from her and disrespected. And now she's told to make do with what he “bestows” upon her through his “love” no matter whether she wants it or likes it at all. He took away any agency from her life. And made her a slave to his whims all in the name of so-called “love.” I can't even. UGH.

Title My Royal Nemesis Spoiler
I'm in the middle of watching ep. 9 and had to come here to rant for a second...Is it just me, or the editing…
That, and did you also have the feeling the writing has gotten more lax? I know i'm gonna share an unpopular opinion but there's a clear difference btw first half and now. Still, acting is great. Maybe they are having problems weaving the plotlines together and connecting threads. But you can feel more the intent behind the scene, like what it's supposed to accomplish plot-wise. Most apparent--ep 9 end scene they cut all Sin Seo Ri's lines and only Cha Se Gye is talking. Emotionally the viewer is supposed to be invested at that point, and many will be, but honestly I found it lacking. It was uncharacteristic. You can gloss it over saying "she was shocked," but consistency-wise this is not how her character was set up to be (since ep 1 in modern times so the current her, not past life court lady scenes) and how her reactions would flow organically. Narrative-wise it's an easy trick in order to make Cha Se Gye's lines shine and make him the focal point of the scene. Maybe better editing would make this transition better, but it doesn't offer buildup. Acting was great, but because how it was written, CSG's words feel like reciting phrases the writer put there with a purpose in mind. Even the same lines would feel better if the scene was written differently. Oh well. That's just my take on it. Anyway, I'm still really enjoying the show. Hope the rest of the eps are great!

First of all, here I go, shout out to those braiders out there. They are working those braids in the hair along…
Exactly, the braids! I love how the men have their hair braided. It looks great and gives this entire culture vibe
