That katana looked super long than usual though...lolBTW, I think Genshin was probably just a generic representation…
> "Also we (China) never make actual historical fiction dramas. Its usually set in a made up place. The censorship has strict requirements for actual historical dramas based off real life events."
You just described how China makes historical fiction, then claim China does not do this. What?

Rome is not a historical epic. It's a historical drama, and even then only manages to get the costumes, a few set design, and some of the major events right. It still makes A LOT of creative liberties. You can watch Dae Jang Geum for something like Rome.
Idk about the katanas, but Koreans have taken and refurbished katanas in wars; you do realize this? Furthermore, it's a historical EPIC. That would be like saying Barry Lyndon takes itself seriously but got all the costumes wrong for using the wrong muskets, hairstyle, and dress, a totally laughable statement in ordinary context.
Wow what an ignorant comment... that would be like saying the Jews, the Polish, or the Soviets would be "insecure" about the Germans if Germany denied and didn't teach Nazi war crimes (fortunately, they do!). You are definitely not an expert in East Asian history. Hell, if the Germans didn't do its comprehensive education today and tried to cover up its history, I'll bet they would be villains everywhere too. Many Americans shows make villains with Republican tropes and exaggerated right winged values, and Republicans haven't mass executed, pillaged, raped, or done human experiments on the Democrats. You're completely oblivious yet you claim to be an expert? Where are you getting your confidence from?
I don't use MDL. I only use once in a blue moon for upcoming shows or films and made an account once I saw these ridiculous comments. I will most likely stop responding at some point.

Do you not understand what mythologized history means? It's historical fiction. It bases things off real life events but takes creative liberties by exaggerating or redefining what happened for dramatic purposes. Sometimes filmmakers may even change the course of history, but unlike Japan, most countries don't extend this over to their history textbooks 😉. This is for every historical for every country unless the series or film is trying to be a documentary or something. With that said, two J-drama fans (check their profiles...) are claiming Korean historicals, specifically, are constantly inaccurate... Let's use our thinking caps. If we acknowledge most historical epics are fictional and exaggerated for every country, then why are these J-drama fanboys making these assertions? Are people on the Shogun section or other American historical epics claiming Americans make inaccurate historical films? Are people in C-epics claiming Chinese make inaccurate historicals? Do people think Barry Lyndon or Lawrence of Arabia are bad historical epics because they are historical fictions or that their inaccuracies represent all of American historicals? Usually, no, because everyone has an implicit understanding that the purpose of historical epics prioritize drama and storytelling over accuracy. So what's the alternative reason? Isn't it more likely that they're basing it off another context? And that's what I did, I simply addressed the context directly instead of playing this stupid subtextual dialogue. If you think I'm insecure, I hope you educate yourself on the historical tensions between Japan and Korea, China, Philippines, Austrialia, etc.

Literally every historical epics are mythologized history. This includes Japan, China, US "historical" dramas. What, did you think Shogun was historical? kekw As a Jdrama fan it's hilarious you try to downplay Korea's historical films when Japan's actual "history" books don't match any of the world's history because they omit events or plant falsified historical data as truth. You are fan of a country that teaches its own "history" and contradicts the consensus, so why even bother speaking about historical accuracy?
