Contrary to what most say below, I think this is a very realistic show. And honestly a very bold one ( similar to dear X that is based on a true story where the FL in reality is Chinese and conquers and uses men in the US not in Korea). First of all all hate the FL but truth is she still cares and is attached to the ML because they grew up together, she saved him they share so much together BUT she does not love him as a partner anymore. Ofc the best thing would be to end it and start dating the SML. As for the ML - he does not want to end his realtionship the the woman he is still in love with and see as his partner and future. He will date the SFL not because he wants to, but simply because he feels obligated to do it. I read a statistics once that 52% of married men cheat as opposed to 48% of women who also cheat. This is life, no matter how much approve ir dissaprove it. Ofc we all know that a lot of these couples do not end in divorce, they either give themselves another chance due to kids, long relationship, attachement and so on. For how I see it, at this point the FL is very secually attracted to the SML but not in love with him ( not yet at least). For her to truly end or go back to the ML , she must live that realtionship with the SML and figure out if this lust will grow to somethign more serious, or it was a momentary infatuation. The most realistic ending for me , woudl be for her to end up with the SML and the ML to end up with SFL. The ML and FL will continue to be in good terms and help each other ( like a lot of divorced couple are still there for each other in bad times) but that would be all. They should part ways and continue with the other love. There love is exhausted ( from FL perspective - ML still loves her deeply, but we need 2 to tango) and what remains is respect and attchment due to old times sake.
