If Liu Xue Yi wasn't in this drama, I wouldn't be watching it. But if I was watching and knowing the character's roots (I understand the meaning and intention of the author of the book and the screenwriter), by the FACT OF KNOWING THE BOOK. However, since I'm watching the drama, and I like the actor, and I understand the character in the book, I have two reasons for not being ruthless with the character. 🌷🌷 And even because I am not approving any evil act and therefore I agree that his ending in the story will continue to be like the story in the book. 🌷🌷
And I think what makes his acting even better is that the voice is his original voice. With all the nuances expressed…
So it could be that Jiang He has much higher dreams than LZS and doesn't care a bit about family ties (much less his sister who helped him through her nephew Gu Jiu Si) and neither his son. And Luo Zi Shang still doesn't know (but I bet that will be for the end). And Jiang He isn't as good-hearted as some think, with a few flaws, but overall on the right side.

Deirdre19 an hour ago It's no wonder we're getting so many one-dimensional characters when some viewers are even incapable of accepting a villain with a thirst for revenge, but who has a soft spot for his childhood fancy. I see absolutely no contradiction in having those emotions. The best villains are the complex ones and LXY is very good at impersonating them! Hopefully your wish will come true and they include this beautiful scene in the drama - it would be perfect as a flashback.
