I don't think I can revisit the drama after dropping it for a while, but perhaps I will in the future when someone gets me a bottle of wine and watches with me haha.
Haha no offense taken! I'm just stalking Chinese drama actors (like Zhang Zhe Han) on Weibo which seems a bit more fun at the moment than watching dramas. Oh Imperial Coroner - I heard that mentioned on AvenueX's Youtube channel. Just started airing right? I might just wait until it finishes so I don't get annoyed waiting impatiently for next episodes haha I HATE THAT.
Not sure if we're into the same ones, but I binge watched (all Chinese): Eternal Love, Ashes of Love, My Girlfriend is an Alien, Romance of Hua Rong (this is a lesser known one that I surprisingly binged watched, got sucked in), and more recently Word of Honor (first time I actually enjoyed a drama without a FL). Hope you'll find something good to watch next!
Found out GJ originally wanted to be a scientist. That would have been a waste of his acting talent & pretty face haha. His family also seems really great people (very kind, yet were cheated by relatives). Hope to meet him someday!

I haven't watched the concert, but I think ZZH is definitely exhausted. There's a fancam video showing end of April he would get off work after 12am (some days even as late as 5am). Then he would be seen leaving the hotel early in the morning (for golf?). I believe past few months he's been really busy; in some WOH interviews he's been yawning and not really engaged. That and I read that he only drinks water, so I assume that means no coffee/tea. No sleep + no caffeine is a terrible combo! I hope he takes care of himself and not burn out.
I heard it was harder for her to get roles because she’s not single. Hope it’s not true, but I guess since people like to ship drama couples, if she’s already in a confirmed relationship, it might affect the popularity of a drama. She reminds me of Eleanor Lee in Fake Princess... super adorable and natural.
Holy smokes now this is passionate, real chemistry! Never watched a pairing that is this real and intense. So satisfying after watching so many lukewarm ML / FL pairings in Chinese dramas. The sofa kiss scene is a must watch; it made me fall in love with the song Unbreakable Love even more. Some people commented on YT that the kiss scene was a bit aggressive, but I disagree...real love is messy and frustrating and passionate mixed with bittersweet pain. It’s not always sweet and lovely rainbows.

You're not the only one! She doesn't seem to have chemistry with any of her ML's, it's really strange. I couldn't finish Demon Girl, Bloody Romance, and now Court Lady. I don't think she's bad at acting, but she just doesn't really seem to connect with her ML, so I don't really feel any of the romantic intensity that I want to feel when watching a drama. I saw a clip of him with Bai Lu in The Legends and their chemistry instantly captivated me.
I love her voice and angelic face, but she hasn’t really improved her acting over the years. She plays a cute, optimistic, mischievous character well because she’s similar in real life. And she pretty much only has chemistry with ZZH... can’t really see her having chemistry with any of her ML so that again goes back to her acting. Hoping for improvements though.
I dropped it at episode 4 for some time because I couldn’t stand the clueless ML that needs to be saved by his wife. I tend to prefer a stronger masculine ML, but randomly picked it up again and enjoy it more because of how sweet he is. They really are such a cute couple that I find myself smiling a lot when seeing them together. Don’t really care for the 5th prince’s love story so i just skip all his scenes haha.
This is way more enjoyable to watch than LoXY because there are more interactions between ML & FL. That was rather lacking in LoXY. But that is also the problem — the chemistry of the characters carries the show. I’m about 13 episodes in, and I’m so bored of the plot... really don’t care about the villains, and only want to see ML & FL’s relationship develop. But I totally live for ML’s smile and seeing him care about FL. It’s just so sweet (may be biased because I love ZZH heh).
I started Bloody Romance because of the opening OST... so haunting and heartbreaking. Thought the drama would give me the same feels, but it didn’t. I just found the story to progress at too slow of a pace making me feel impatient. There just isn’t enough action to suck me in and binge watch it non-stop until 7am like I do with other dramas. I like that they have a different kind of love (mature and unconditional), but I tend to like the typical icy male lead who softens up after he falls for the female lead and then he makes all kinds of sacrifices and does crazy things for her lol. If you want to experience that kind of romance, this ain’t it.
Might be biased because I’m a huge JJY fan, but ZZH has weak chemistry with the FL. Even in the BTS, he sometimes ignores her (focusing on his phone) while she’s trying to get his attention. Planning to slow watch this just for ZZH. FL is adorable though and is very natural.
I found out through ZZH’s interview that he intentionally tried to be playful/teasing with Ju Jing Yi to create rapid chemistry between them, since there wasnt a lot of time to get to know each other. I don’t know if its because she was shy/awkward, or if he does this with other female leads.
Watching their BTS was really cute and made me smile, and many ship them together - but now it seems a bit fake to me as all that flirting wasn’t done out of genuine interest in her, which takes away some of the enjoyment of the series.
That said, this series is heavy on political power struggles and less so on the romance, so I wouldn’t watch it if you want a lot of sweet romantic interactions. It’s sweet that ML always wants to protect FL from harm, but at points they barely saw each other for days. Doesn’t make sense as a couple.
As for the ending it ends at episode 48, and I was happy with it even though it was open to interpretation. There is a sad version (I believe episode 50), but no point watching it imo LOL. Good drama overall but not great.
