I agreeee! Based on the previews for episodes 48 and 49, Shang Gu was hallucinating about Bai Jue in episode 48 so I think he might've already died then. It's just a guess though.
We see Shang Gu crying at the place where Bai Jue sacrificed himself in epsiode 49, but I think that's just a memory because Shang Gu only found out about Bai Jue's plan after he died. So, I think there is enough time for a fulfilling happy ending for everyone :)
