the netizens are right for this opinion. i just saw a future ep preview and the scholar guy is literally beating first sister with a whip (apparently it's on accident bc he's beating the maid? idk). i hope it's only someones imagination or there's some backstory behind it because that was so out-of-pocket. first sister suffered the most and looks like she will suffer again with a wife-beater (again, i really hope its not true)
besides this the kidnap "prank" just did not sit right with me, especially when they were touching the girls "to scare them", and the whole time the girls thought that they were the kidnappers, like thats actually messed up
i also do agree that the writing of the drama is a bit shallow. i was hoping we would get to see more focus on the girls and their individual passions and the whole family's journey towards being successful in their woman-run business. i was expecting something like flourished peony, which i LOVED. i loved how that drama showed a woman rising high in a male dominated field, with ML almost like a side piece supporting her along the way. I really expected something similar for PM, but in a more lighthearted comedy way with some more family-focus. it kind of sucks that this isn't the approach they went for.
another thing, while the leads have great visual chemistry, the actual chemistry isn't really well-developed thanks to the odd writing and the fast-paced nature of their relationship. with how fast the ML fell for FL, i thought they had some previous connection, it just didn't seem very natural and like a true haters-to-lovers cdrama romance, like they were seemingly marketing it. however this is not rlly the biggest deal, just something that bothered me a little
now that third sister is married off, i wonder how they will progress with the drama. just jump the story's focus from sister to sister until they are all married? im guessing next focus of the drama will be first sister with the scholar.

This is very well said. I can't quite pinpoint why this drama's not resonating with me, especially with how they portray societal views of men and women, and you made several interesting points. I'm wondering if there is or could be a fine line in portraying these subject matters with as much care and sensitivity when the overarching genre of the drama seems to lean more towards the romcom territory.
I really don't care about the female leads reasons for acting this way anymore, she is just disgusting to me. What she is doing to the male lead is just plain cruel, there has to be so many others ways to do whatever they are trying to do. But 99% it's just her pulling the heart out of the ML's chest.
I hope she rest more before taking on any more projects or brands. It's a shocking sight to see such a young bright celebrity walking with a cane, but I think it is incredibly brave for her to be public with it. Most celebrities in the world seemed able-bodied and seemed like they are happy and well, but the truth is that so many are experiencing a lot of hardships and issues. So many have hidden disabilities and disorders, but are forced to hide it. It's nice to see that she is willing to show herself while still recovering.
