This is a watchable drama but has distracting elements. Let's give an example:
Director: How much foundation do you think the male lead needs? Make-up artist: YES.
20 layers of white foundation later...
Male lead: Am I playing the role....of a geisha?!?? Stylist: Let's balance that by adding color! *villain of the story finally appears* Male lead: (flashes bright pink blazer) Me: My eyes!!! Kill that hideous thing!!!!
SML actor did his job well, thoroughly convincing us he was an obsessed madman. Very handsome guy though. He caught my eye in “Forever and Ever” as the ML’s best friend who fell for Bai Lu’s character. This guy stay not getting the girl 🤣.
in the novel, they still call each other third brother/meimei even though they know theyre not blood related… i remember lsy got mad when lyn called him by his name 😂
Perhaps I hung my expectations way too high( which I might blame myself for that) or maybe im being too critical but So far in EP 7 and this drama is honestly not hitting the right notes I (PERSONALLY) expected it to hit. so far none has been hit..
Maybe because it was from the same director from MJTY ( which Is literally one of my fav Cdrama recently) and because it has some casts from MJTY here ( TJR won my 2024 over with his debut existence in MJTY and brought my awareness and anticipation to this..) Maybe all these and the trailers Led me into an illusion of what i thought i knew the story would be about and how I'd unfold. But so far... It's a pretty underwhelming watch. ( For me! Not Generalising)
I don't really know where to start now to pinpoint. There is a plot surely, we have characters and we have everything needed to brew a cup of excellence but something is wrong. There's a flavour that's not here. and there is SOME Flavour in here that really shouldn't be in this tea.
I'll continue watching to see If anything will turn up for me but so far it's really a lackluster for me, even what I was looking for I don't even know if there is any hope of redemption for it honestly. But who knows? Perhaps the director is playing a prank on me ( Please be a prank) because I refuse to believe this is the Fangs of fortune I was waiting for for a year....
On another note. If you're enjoying it, I'm happy for you. I'm still watching but let's see what the other Eps has.

Not a bad drama, more slice of life, with some political intrigues, family drama and love interspersed throughout.…
"how come she gave up on him so easily?"
She ended up gravely injured and she heard "nobody cares when a woman dies" said by him. Her maid - who was like a sister to her - died because she was exhausted when helping her heal. She said that "I killed her" . I think that she was very shocked by the whole story, which has brought so much sorrow to her, and even caused the death of an innocent person. She must have thought, "We know good or bad by its fruit, and this relationship couldn't have been good, as the fruits of it were bad."
It just took only 18 days to hit 1 billion effective playback, according to maoyan entertainment....you know how much fast it is?"the double" took 21 days to reach it and it was the third highest of the year according to maoyan entertainment...
Did we already see the scene seen in the ending credit with them kissing, both wearing red, and her back bare? Sure these two people know how to kiss...
LJX is unbearable but y’all, that hand placement when he pushed Yining against the wall 🤌 that was sweet of CS to put his hand behind her when she hit the wall
