The time travel is similar in both the dramas. The female lead travels back in time. Both the series have school romance and angst

but IMO the Male Lead in ALP may make you cry more, like what happened to me and the other fellow lovers of "Ancient Love Poetry" !

The ending is perfect. 11/10

The xianxia trend took off thanks to Eternal Love that virtually did almost everything right as it redefined the genre and established a set of standards to follow or challenge to create great works. Eventually, Ashes of Love came along and more or less could be said to have rivaled EL. ELoD set out to surpass EL and some people think that it did. Both L&R and L&D took a rather non-traditional but still interesting enough approach to the xianxia genre, albeit I think they fell short a couple of steps to EL/AoL.

Now....now we have Ancient Love Poetry, a god-sent work which, I believe, has raised the set of standards to a new, higher level, making it the best xianxia to date. I hope this competitive trend continues for a long time. Just imagining a new xianxia drama that could be on par or even surpasses APL makes me feeling enthralled.

Both dramas are xianxia romance dramas.
Both have three realms, immortals, demons and reincarnations. More importantly, beautiful romance.

Both are School drama and great chemistry between main leads and second couple too
It has a strong female lead too(she will start learning martial arts very soon in the drama)
And it's humor is also very good ?

I love the feel of both of them though different if you like one you will definitely like the other.

They are basically similar both the girls work for r Lotte Duty .An has a number of men ho men from which they both have to choose.In both the dramas girl are basic looking but all the men are super hot.

both dramas are about the love story of royalty and subject. in both female lead are tight-lipped and proud to convey their love, as well as the male lead, is when they take one step toward the female lead, the female lead takes two steps back that make male lead irritate and want them to beg for her love but female are more proud than the male lead. its pull and push relationship who surrenders first will admit its defeat.

- Both the dramas are set in the Ming dynasty
- Both the female leads are the head chefs or cooks of the Palace
- The female lead of DD is also a friend of the Female lead of RF.

In both dramas, the female lead enters the world of the novel that she is currently reading.
The main leads are enemies with each other at first, but they fall in love eventually.

- Female Lead goes into Male Lead's world (his novel)
- FL can alter his reality (their writings "collide" - her fanfic and his novel)
- FL acts out funny tropes to change the story (making ML fall for her!)

Another ancient investigative team led by two male detectives and a eunuch. The eunuch is a grey character very much like one of the two leads.

Supernaturally long living characters wait for the reincarnation of their long lost love who sacrificed themselves to save them. Once found, they begin love-hate relationships with the reincarnation because it is a must to lift a curse. They will literally die from the curse if they don't. A lot of long stares and awkward moments. Both are BLs.

Have the same plot where one person waits for years.
Also the person that dies changes gender when they reincarnate.
