I was wondering the same myself. Is it better to watch the original first or should I just watch remake first?…
Let me simplify it for you. The so called darkness of drama is not a setting or a character that you can exclude ,Its the main theme of the whole drama, So, korean version will obviously include it . Any deviation from main theme ,then its not even a remake. If you can't handle that theme then don't watch either of them. . if you can then , I am biased so do check out jp one too..
Ahh, should I watch the original with Kimura Takuya first before this? I don't know...
You can watch it and you will come to know that nobody can nail that role like Kimura did....Classic JP dramas leave such a huge impact on its viewer that viewer s become skeptic about its remake...
"For me, I graduated from choosing actors just because of his looks or should I say blinded with their looks :) :) " ……Preach it !!! and good job with the article...
Jo Seung-Woo ( Lead actor ) and Lee Soo-Yeon ( writer) both worked previously on Secret Forest (Stranger) , my favourite kdrama till date...obviously the bar is set high for them , just waiting for them to let cat out of the bag ..
I came across this drama while stalking jeon do-yeon.... Bonus was yoo ji tae and its legal thriller genre....it ended up being one of my fav dramas ..I have discovered some underrated but awesome dramas while stalking my trusted actors/actresses...
Kudos to you for summing up the issue perfectly. "Boys before flower" was my first Kdrama , I loved it so much and watched it repeatedly.... Rich and handsome guy falling for poor ,naïve girl against his family <<< that story serves perfect for most of the girls because somewhere they fantasize about being loved by someone who are out of their reach... but after watching few more Kdramas, I started to dislike same things ( clichés ) which I used to enjoy earlier... Instead of that ,I crave for stories which are different and challenge stereotypes and thankfully , writers and producers have realised that POV of audience and we are getting more and more such dramas....
