You can just take it as a fantasy drama. But don't cancel it. Finally when Jisoo is about to shine this is Happening.…
People like you are part of the problem, this drama should have never been used for a kpop idol to advance her career, and the way they are marketing it to you kids because of that is very disrespectful and wrong on so many levels.
some of you guys are so insensitive. this issue is bigger than some kpop idol starring in it. show some humanity…
Ugh I don't get why we always have to tie it back to right vs. left it's so old. I am definitely not left leaning but I still can see why this drama is offensive.
Totally get you. I can't even finish the 2nd episode because of the goofy sounds, some ridiculos unnecessary short…
Yeah I will never get these stylistic choices with such a serious controversial drama, you'd think they'd at least try to approach it respectfully, but then again a huge part of this drama is promoting a kpop idol's career and marketing to her audience.
Even beyond any historical inaccuracies it's not wrong to want to stop them from romanticizing a deadly political event, even more than that they've brought a kpop idol into the mix so they're romanticizing it to kids too and using it to promote her career. I'm against censorship and cancel culture in America but in korea it's different, respect culture is huge there, I'd be pretty offended too if I lost a family member to this event and they turned it into a love story and used it to promote an idol's career.
So first off...ignoring the history/political side of it because I'm watching for the romance/drama mainly and…
Yeah she's not exactly bad but she's not great either, definitely some overacting going on which is distracting. And yeah that whole line about maybe she's meant for acting was cringe, makes me wonder if this whole thing was written with the purpose of promoting her career.
They are school students. Can't stop the hormones.
That may be but there are better ways to go about touchy subjects like this and putting a lighthearted spin on the whole thing isn't helping their case. D.P. is a great example, there were plenty of comedic relief moments but when things got serious they made serious emotional impact. Here they have a fleeing "spy" being helped to hiding to goofy background music...kinda bizarre and doesn't sit well with me.
Putting this on hold. Jung Haein is good as always and Jisoo isn't bad, but I'm not quite feeling it. Their chemistry was really good at first but then they got too close too fast out of nowhere. There's also this immature playful vibe through the whole show with goofy music where I feel this should be taken more seriously, almost like this whole thing dealing with such a serious issue was marketed toward kids especially with Jisoo being involved. Add in the political controversy and it seems there is a lot that is wrong and disrespectful with this show.
After reading this Twitter thread I completely understand why this show is problematic: https://mobile.twitter.com/gatamchun/status/1471205914174967808The…
So the controversy is over the NSA falsely accusing them of being spies, and Snowdrop is portraying them as actually being spies when they weren't?
Yeah that's some BS. Not sure why they'd go that route in the first place when it's dramatic enough as it is to be falsely accused of being a spy, unless the writer had some kind of political agenda.
Politics aside it is a pretty good drama so far. I'm not familiar with Jisoo I only watch kdramas. Jung Haein the veteran that he is is always a reliable and steady actor so that's a given, I really like him although I do wish he showed a little more expression at times. I see no problem with Jisoo so far, she's doing a fine job maybe just a little bit of overacting in some scenes, she's better than I expected being so new. Their chemistry is great.
Lol, it happens for every new drama ( unless you are new to MDL page you will know that) actual rating of a jew…
It's because MDL applies a formula to apply a weighted average so the rating can be realistic. It gets applied suddenly which is why there is always a sudden rating drop.
