the thing is IF DZ never met JL and this is not a love story of DZ and JL.. then the whole point is so defeated..
ManMan should have been JL for the karmic , fate thing to make sense... or atleast for DZ to have met JL and loved it in any form
or worst case scenario.. WYi originally should be a discarded fox like JL.. weak, on verge of dying and then saved - granted a human form and power like JL
the feeling of coming full circle, fate, completeness of the story is missing
1. There is a scene in trailer where multiple heads come out of Wyi.. so looks like either 3 remaining fragments will join and go into same vessel to consolidate power... OR it is flashback
But in time loop flashback won't make much sense because fragments r already split 3 ways and WYi will have to defeat other two to gain the 2 figments
2. this obsessive story writing is not normal and the girl is under a spell or has been manipulated into it. Han Ba, too in love doesn't realize the issue. For his love, he has become a chatterbox. Likely JY played some role as grandmother.... after all JY has been after all 4 folks who weild dragon power
3. think, as soon as you recite a story.. or interact with those papers somehow... you trigger time travel. No one but beaver managed to read 1 line (others didn't because Mu would snatch the paper).. and as soon as he read the lines we saw the change/blip/deter
4. you can't submit a fake story it seems else why did WYi not submit one... she did so on purpose. Wyan losing all her memories is also tied to this arc... and in the end... she will again lose her memories as per defined timeline... but this is going to be the last timeloop so she won't gain back her memories in the end

i think the trigger are the stories. There is a reason why Mu is obsessed with writing story. It is not normal. Also, like WYan said, stories even if fiction are someone's thoughts and come alive.

Each arc has been about JY manipulating the demon to gain dragon power. I think JY has a hand here too... she knew demon loved this girl Mu. Mu was upset on losing mom. JY in peak JY form, probably faked being dead grandmother and asked her to write stories (well someone definitely compelled her or coaxed her to write stories)
so the reason she writes story... is that because like they said.. stories can come alive, record memories, someone's thoughts that become fiction or fiction that is originally someone's thoughts

true. this is top tier writing and direction. Being able to keep audience hooked and not being able to predict much... and despite twist over twist, it doesn't seem overwhelming
