My take on the Mothers given what all i have been seeing -
Scene - when Khem's mom defended against R and people r hailing it as some huge moral difference. To me, it is not a commentary on moral highness because the lady in white does not have any...
But this whole journey has been about ACCOUNTABILITY ************************************ Lady in white is also greatly responsible for the tragedy.
She chose to not stand by what was right, expose the truth and be with the innocent. Instead, she chose to save herself and coaxed others to believe her and her assumptions about what is the "right" thing to do in that situation. She asked her daughter to lie about murder of R's son knowing very well that this will result in death penalty for R.
Yet, she DOES NOT APOLOGIZE to R in this scene or the lifetime. There is no moral superiority.
She is also a selfish mother(then & now)
Then, she chose to kill innocent R to save her people. Now, she prioritizes her selfishness (K's safety being her selfish desire/rather a mother's desire) over any moral standing. There is no right or wrong. Humans do choose desires over moral conduct if d desire simply is that important (uno reverse validates R's desire to seek revenge) but have to owe up to it
There really isn't much difference between the two mothers. For them their own kid is supreme and truth, honesty, kindness, respect for an innocent's life is all meaningless in front of their kid.
Main theme of the story overall seems to be that : Every action has a consequence & you cannot run away from accountability of that action (good or bad). No reason/excuse/rationale can ever "justify" an action. Accountability must be borne (goes back to the point that there may not be absolute good or absolute bad action...but just consequences and accountabilities and butterfly effects)
No reason will absolve you of the accountability. Karma always settles scores - boons or curses/ blessings or punishments, and Karma will settle it when the right time comes. Right time is when YOU are finally ready to owe up to your actions and take responsibility
Only difference bad is called bad is because we cannot and do not like to face any inconvenience, whereas it is very easy to enjoy blessings (joy is feeble but little pain also seems like eternity). HENCE, when your action begets good... one does not realize the wait time for it.. but when it begets a punishment then it hurts.. and leaves more of mark on the soul and on memories than good times ever do
In every drama, the actors must support each other. When the work is good, you don't give Jung So Min credit.…
It is probably just you and your blind fan love that just can't deal with opinions ,..
rofl...
Also, better luck next time quoting your selective reading and algorithmn driven reading as evidence on behalf of the world... comeon, you can do better than that
I ain't responsible for your insecurities... and inferiority complex..

@eriknewhere - What part is not understandable to you? I just explained it to you.. Khem is literally the same soul. He is a 21 yr old who has full understanding of all that transpired. He literally has no right to "forgive" Rampheung. He should be asking for forgiveness..
Just because people were being nice letting him decide what to do.. doesn't mean he didn't deserve his karmic payback.
Infact, if nature didn't think he deserved it then he would not have got it... but nature did think he deserved it.. and once he had paid enough he should be rescued (hence making sure he crosses path with Peem and is this naga's chosen lover across timelines, making sure Ram's son gets birthed in this cycle)
I think the difference is especially with JZB, he never harmed the innocent unlike STL. He even says in episode…
oh good.. seems like novel is logical in its character treatment and dealt with fl-sl well.
Based on drama, it seems ML-FL are aligned in their viewpoint that this whole concept of blessing rain should be removed.. maybe more like globalization will enter the chat..
Free trade agreements between 6 realms so that every realm gets what they want and sell what they r good at.. and help each other during famine etc... it will be 1 happy family
Quite possibly the only last episode I have never skipped the intro LOL All hell's breaking loose but damn, I…
Why do people not realize that Ram's anger and revenge is also part of Khemjira's karma..
The girl did sthg very wrong and was always going to pay for it...
The fact that you can see so many forces (mainly dear gods and goddesses and all the deities) aligning to CREATE a situation for Ram to go into a rebirth cycle instead of her soul shattering forever is a good enough proof of her justified anger..
Things had to run its course.. for everyone involved. And, life came full circle.
1. The boy Khem let die and accused his mom wrongly leading to mom's painful death - that same boy saved Khem's life
2. Khem and family paid for their actions. Personally, i don't agree with 1 lifetime of punishment is enough. karma does follow you and your soul through many births. Khem had to realize her wrongdoings and really own up to it.. which happened only in this lifeline
3. Ram will get punished... but again.. the fact that situations have been created for her.. and basically a leniency granted despite whatever she has done is because everyone knows she is justified... and her original actions are also part of pre-decided sequence of events = consequences of khem's and her family's actions
4. The way Ram apologized to Khem further tells you that at its core Ram is a very mature, respectful, and a righteous person. Plus, as soon as her anger subsided... she could recall that she really did love the khem girl in her original lifetime
Lastly, this episode was so Lit.. but khem has no standing to tell Ram "I cannot forgive you". He literally has no right. Other people may choose to punish or forgive her.. but khem doesn't have that right. Other than that 1 dialogue..everything was PERFECT
Calling him Peem was a WHOLE PLOT POINT.. and they treated it so casually.. no wonder people were confused because everyone could hear "Phi" and TL would say Peem
DMD is really holding the biggest card in the industry only because of Keng, damn man is a package
100%
He is complete package.. and they paired him well too.. atleast NP is good at talking - governer's wife for a reason
BUt Keng is definitely the breakthrough star and a superstar in the making... basically what 2gether did for Bright V... Khemj should do for Keng... and Keng is ACTUALLY TALENTED in EVERYTHING he does
plz!!!!.. I cried.. haven't cried in a long time over a drama.. i cried so bad..
and then the 1st time was b'fully shot... DMD gets NC scenes but this was still b'ful compared to their recent shows
Whoever the director team is.. DMD stick to them.. atleast they know their art.. and most importantly, THIS PROVES that if source material is of high quality, aka script, drama mostly will be great!!!
Untamed, Khemjira... literally take any famous novel
I think the difference is especially with JZB, he never harmed the innocent unlike STL. He even says in episode…
1st para - yes. you do have a point there.
On SL giving the root, i thought after ep 32 it is settled that FL-SL is over. So, i am working on the hypothesis that ML and FL will not find the tree unless SL gives it to them.. and FL is going to ask for it or SL will just give it to her... in both cases, SL will just yield because he still cares for her... i don't think "in return" bit will come up now.. other than maybe "remember me well. Come and talk to me on my deathbed.. or u know stuff like that"
On sympathy, even if dad didn't say anything she would do that same because she really has no identity outside of it. She has been a warrior and is a very proud warrior. Even if the world were against her, she would still be "for the people" because that is what her DNA needs to survive. That's the only philosophy she knows. ... and like i said, she cares.. but as a general , as a warrior...
What she is not capable of (or the talent she doesn't posses) is to be true empress/ruler/prince ... because she absolutely cannot deal with various aspects of civilian society (military societies are very disciplined. Little tricks won't do... you really need to have a deep insight to guage a personality and be able to use their personality to motivate them or punish them)
So, i don't know how they dealth FL-SL in the novel but i feel script is weak here if they show FL becoming an empress at the end.
dashing youth-bloodriver-blood of youth?
i haven't watched any yet.. just started blood river..should i stop and go back to dashing youth?
dashing youth is about which character from blood river, and blood of youth is about which character from blood river
i am not the one claiming that i go searching insta reels to prove how awesome or bad she is..
:) .. you are really not good at sound logic arguments
i agree with you that plot is def. the bigger problem.. acting is not

USP of this drama and ONLY REASON this drama is good is becuase of ML-FL
If it werent for them, the show is a very mediocre script.. pulling in all the standard plot devices in the most obvious ways..
FL was spectacular in My Journey to You and her chemistry was Chef's kiss. Her chemistry in LITC is also awesome.
ML is really good- both Fangs of Fortune and this...
Both are filming new dramas currently - her a modern romance and him another period drama (phoneix sthg)
same transpired with untamed right..
book is fantastic, has a strong base... and production team genuinely did justice to bringing it to life..
they deserve this success and hopefully improve quality of other DMD projects
rofl...

the one who is claiming that right is a 21 yr old grown up boy who is aware of all the threads and karmas and the whole story... HE ABSOLUTELY CAN't..
in DMD i think FirstOne is the strongest actor and a good singer..
Keng is good at everything. Definitely way more edge than NP... it is just sthg about him as keng, as the personality... which differentiates him..
I have seen him in 3 shows now and his acting is not that great (not bad.. but not sthg to write home about)
Script is most definitely weak.. but overall package is absolutely underwhelming
The girl did sthg very wrong and was always going to pay for it...

magic prophecy was quite mediocre.. even dropped it.. just couldn't sit through it
