I like the complexities in Situ Ling's arc and how it reflects on other characters
*********************** 1. On JBZ - SL will literally save his life by giving the tree to FL. For all the taunting that JBZ has done. Also, JBZ doesn't even have full context of SL"s relationship with FL... and just keeps blaming SL - JBZ was tortured in Sunken Abyss and wanted to vent his anger. Avenging Bo was one thing, but he also had his own anger to vent out... so audacity to tell SL that he should not vent his own based on abuse he faced
But still JBZ-SL r fine in whatever is shown. Reasonable
2. FL
She is an absolute letdown in case of SL, and shows her lack of maturity in understanding people. She can only be a warrior and a general... not someone who can be a good people's leader outside of war construct... not because she is not a good person or not intelligent... nah! she has all the qualities but she simply DOES NOT understand human pschye, does not understand leadership empathy to motivate, care, and encourage people when they r struggling....
In modern world.. instead of handling it like a doctor or a psychiatrist, applying only military discipline to cure depression or basically any emotional , human issue
a) Heaven's official blessing - X told Huacheng "if you don't have a reason to live then make me your reason to live", and that line alone changed HC's "life"
FL here said don't make anyone the reason to live, which shows she is not very deep or mature.
If someone is on deathbed with no hope, no motivation, nothing to look forward to and in that moment, if he finds a glimmer of hope then anyone human should want to help him to hold onto it and live. Translated into real world, You meet a manic depressed person who is in awe of you. You understand that but you choose not to say anything but continue receiving gifts/help/support... while maintaining your distance because u don't want any responsibility. And, once you are sorted, you basically tell that person off for seeing warmth, glimmer of hope in you in his whole dark world.
You do not care about the abuse, you don't care abt anything... you don't care to explain anything to them ... but just treat it as a transaction..
if a real person were to say anything against depression today, they will be canceled on SOCMED
**************** FL has all the right to not be responsible for anyone... but it does go onto show that she does lack sympathy of a ruler. The people she has chosen to help through this entire journey are the ones who were useful to her and with whom it makes personal sense to continue friendship .. e.g. she wouldn't mind risking life for the girls becuase she actually gets sthg out of them
those who want crash course and save time. Similarly, there are other videos focused on 2nd couple love triangle...
Overall - drama has wonderful production quality, acting is all rounded from everyone, fight scenes are the best thing about the drama.
Writing is predictable if you are used to this genre. Full of every possible trope. Story has nothing new to offer but if you enjoy this genre - lakorn/korean long political dramas/chinese mid tier political dramas.. then you will have fun with this script
( if you are an intelligent viewer then don't go seeking a complex political thriller, good mindgames etc.. it is not that kind of drama)
Overall - watch it, watch it slow.. not that exciting for a binge watch (story will be too predictable in a binge watch)
An amnesia trope plot in this day and age, alright why not, but what a bunch of nonsense filler. Ten episodes…
i started the show yesterday and dropped it after 6 episodes. IQIYI has posted some long videos on Youtube so you can just watch it to get sense of the full story. it is fairly good in terms of all key scenes captured, all side stories in its individual arcs, and just a shortened version of the drama.
I guess live viewing experience must have been good because this show , writing wise, is nothing new. It is like one plot point after another and nothing new to offer honestly. Atleast, binge watch will not make you think that this show has some great writing. You can easily guess plot points in first 5 episodes itself.
However, fight scenes are choreographed well. Story wise it is a typical typical asian drama, full of every trope known but with good production and good acting
I don’t think the real beauty of this drama lies in who the culprit is, but rather in why they did it and that’s…
oh..i thought it was to plot so that he can get married..
i am on ep 5 - clearly there is a history because as soon as ML"s sister came to know she is getting married to that guy... she was happy.. and excited
And FL was his fiance.. so i guess he needed her out of way to get married to this girl/ or some politics .. backup plan.. that if ML survives, and marriage is the new plot then there must be a reason marriage can be proposed.. with a fiance marriage can't be proposed
And then ofcourse, FL came to know about some secret... so she had to be silenced.
Lastly, that best friend.. 2 dialogues have already come up - when he appeared stalkers dispersed (when friend met FL for the 1st time on the street).. and 2nd he came to bid farewell that he is leaving with his dad.. and things start spiralling again
This should be fun based on yoru comment.. lookign forward to good writing then!
isn't it obvious who pushed her? Her flashback scene , even though is blurred.. you can clearly see the pretty prince / her fiance pushed her off the cliff
the red black attire and the hairstyle.. dead giveaway..
where is the mystery.. couldn't keep it up even for 2 episodes
