Wow.. that was just.. wow. The "twist" with Shizuku not being his real daughter just tore me apart. As somebody who may also have to adopt, the thought of my child finding out I'm not their biological parent terrifies me. I can only imagine what he was going through, knowing that he raised her, but that their still not related by blood. And even though blood doesn't make you family, the fact that her real "father" is coming back some day.. ugh. It would kill me.
It started off as a great drama, and it still is, in my opinion. But the ending was just terrible. Shioriko mentioned earlier in the drama that she had more important things in life than just books. So why the heck did she just let her mom go at the end? What about her brother? Doesn't he deserve an explanation? And surely Shioriko should have been at least a little angry? Sorry, but for such a cruel, selfish character like that, it was a terrible ending.
Labeling this drama as a romance is also very misleading. There is no actual romance between the main characters (hints don't count in my opinion since nothing ever became of it), so labeling it as a romance is a bit silly.
Well, I for one loved /all/ the characters. I'm not too sure why some people seem to dislike Mei and her actress. Sure, she's a bit plain, but I actually find that to be quite refreshing. Japan seems to have that 1950's mindset when it comes to women, insisting that they all need to look and act stereotypically feminine, so it's nice to see somebody break out of that sexist mold for once.
Why the hell is Yanagihara Kanako the female lead?? She better lose like 100 lbs for this role. Shes not even…
Aw, look. Another generic douchebag who thinks any women that doesn't look like some photoshopped, anorexic model isn't "sexy" or "attractive".
Pro-tip: You should keep your disgusting comments to yourself and stop disgracing our sex. Not being attracted to larger women doesn't give you the right to act like a pissant.
And FYI, I prefer slender girls, too. I'm just not an asshole about it unlike some people. :)

Thanks. And lol, yeah. I don't think it's even possible to dislike Nakatsu, or probably even the series as well.

Yeah, outside of a few websites I'm on, I usually only come across girls.
Hah, thanks~ it's unfortunate that most guys aren't open about it (or they think there's something wrong with it), but I guess most of them are too wrapped up in acting 'manly' to realize that being yourself is all that matters. I never understood why watching dramas was a 'girl only' thing anyway.

Really? I always thought they were more common. Maybe because I'm the type of guy who doesn't mind admitting he likes "unmanly" stuff, but who knows. :P
