As I was reading the novel, I wasn't sure why it was called 3 Lives, 3 Worlds when I think Yehua only had two "lives". But then after watching the drama, it all makes more sense because of the Lotus Spirit Yehua scenes!

1st Life : Mt. Kunlun => Golden Egg/Lotus Spirit Yehua & Si Yin
2nd Life : Mortal Realm => Yehua & Su Su
3rd Life : Immortal Realm => Yehua & Bai Qian

edit: oops I forgot to write down Yehua's mortal lifetime, which makes complete three lives!

Yes, the golden lotus is where yehua's soul was sealed in.

Yehua is actually Moyuan's twin brother but the mother was only able to save the first child (Moyuan) and the father tried to save the other one by using his energy and turning it into a womb but it just won't wake up. He then turned it into a golden egg (or lotus, in the drama) and put it behind Mt. Kunlun.

I think it would have been better if you read the novel first! i really liked the experience of seeing the novel's events came to life in the drama (despite some minor changes) and how it gives us more detailed image of what was happening.

as for the sequel where it retells from Yehua's POV, i've never heard! though i kind of remember there was kind of an epilogue that tells Yehua's POV.... Did you read the fan translations or the official published one? (I read the fan trans btw and it was labelled Side Story 4 - Yehua)
