Title Loving Strangers
Watched the Korean version (My Mister) eight years ago, and it was exceptional and truly empathised with what i was going through at the time and it still holds a very special place in my heart. Rewatching it now is really difficult, not only because it is so heavy but also because the main lead Lee Sun Kyun is no longer with us in reality... Was very apprehensive before watching this Chinese remake and as many have said comparison is inevitable... however after watching it, it's definitely a masterpiece in its own right. The actors did an incredible job and each individual character had more of their own stories in this version, which is really wonderful because you get to see how everyone has their own struggles and stories to tell and that life isn’t easy for anyone... like the main character likes to put it 什么都不是事儿 (which translates to something like "everything will be okay" encouraging you to be positive and look forward), i guess somehow one way or another we all get better at living life... it's everyone's first time here anyways so we shouldn't be so harsh on ourselves. Just like when I first watched it eight years ago to now, I’ve changed quite a bit and am living better than in the past. Wishing for everyone who watches either version to find some solace and to have the hope that everything truly will eventually get better!!
