yeah i loved and enjoyed all the fight scenes. those were cool especially the techniques GZY learnt from his trials. the backhill folks were also hilarious together. GZY and YWS had a decent relationship, the cinematography was actually beautiful too. just that the later episodes were all such a pile of mess and whoever is behind the production team is trash. they deserve to be fired doing such a terrible job at everything
goodbye, im so done with this show. terrible promotion, iqiyi sabotaging the 1st couple lead, the fanwars, the negativity, hate on GZY's character, the ending episodes and the ending itself... yeah, my heart is not in this drama anymore. such a disappointment. my first chinese historical drama. good work on the actors part for their hard work. there were some good scenes in the earlier episodes. afterwards, the ending episodes after ep18 was just not it for me
love all the fight scenes best. its great that GZY managed to master the snow saber techniques quickly. he also has good photogenic memory. even Esther irl said that GZY's character is smarter than he lets on. ppl should stop complaining about how dumb or weak he is already
the scene of the antidote between GZY & YWS was really the best, it was most touching. their lines are so well delivered - very poetic, deeply layered and beautiful. can really feel the love between both main leads. both of them mutually care for the other. going through the pains together really makes them both grow in their relationship. the cinematography was also portrayed brilliantly and added to the atmosphere of the two. that was quite a beautiful and heartaching moment
just wanted to point out something i noticed about the 2 couples. one could say that both couple pairs suit each other very well and are similar in their characters.
both first ml and fl, GZY and YWS have the look or demeanour as being weak or dumb more than they appear to be in terms of skills or status while 2nd ml and fl, GSJ and SGQ appear to be more obviously smart than they are.
YWS and GZY are less talk and more silent observations. SGQ and GSJ are more talk. if you noticed that throughout the episodes, both SGQ and GSJ have repeatedly taunted or mocked YWS and GZY respectively. so while YWS and GZY are both more kind-hearted and compassionate inwardly, both SGQ and GSJ are more scheming and ruthless in reality.
actually, its funny cuz YWS and GZY have a pretty similar calm demeanour even in the face of adversity, especially GZY with his ability to let things slide with YWS or GSJ.
when GSJ didnt keep the end of his bargain to find concrete evidence regarding wuming by the 10 days deadline and GZY had already completed his 1st trial in the 10 days as he promised, he still let GSJ off the hook and said they were both even. that just shows that GZY is more tolerant and willing to compromise than GSJ who always wants to win most of the time
well, all characters definitely have their own flaws and strengths. it's a good balance of the different types of personalities and relationships that the characters have with eachother. none of them are super smart or super good or bad. it's just a mix of imperfections.
weirdly enough, i find 2nd leads couple quite boring to watch. imo they dont have any of the so-called chemistry as most ppl say, whereas 1st couple leads interactions are not boring at all abeit "slow".
the most annoying characters in the show are no doubt GSJ, GYZ, and sometimes SGQ when she's vying for GSJ's attention. GSJ just makes her look seemingly so pathetic hanging unto his every word, seeking his approval, playing up to meet all his requirements and preferences, and acting weak and fragile when she's not. sure she has to convince him on the surface but the way GSJ treats her is just not right. i take that since this is just a drama and not irl but a toxic love deemed acceptable is a no-go irl so kinda weird that many ppl take to 2nd couple lol
i disagree with all those who think of GZY as weak or incompetent because he is much smarter and more observant than he lets on. looking forward to see his growth 🫶
also loving GZY and YWS's relationship. they have a tender, warm and precious relationship. can tell that both actors are decent in their acting cuz i can feel the sincerity of their characters. GZY is a very simple, pure, kind and thoughtful guy. he treats YWS very well and he does the little things for her without being too obvious. he does a lot of things for her that makes their interactions and story beautiful, meaningful and deeply moving - like something to be cherished. first couple lead is for me. rooting for both the main leads GZY and YWS <3
on the other hand, GSJ and SGQ's relationship is just like a test or a calculation. the way GSJ treats SGQ is simply controlling or restrictive and callous like when he intentionally pressed on her wound on several occasions. the way he's always keeping her in check and always makes her feel less or lower than she actually is shows that their relationship is unhealthy. their relationship is really difficult to like. can't feel that both of them really likes the other. neither can i feel any sincerity between them when they interact.
