So Ji Sub has it all: presence/charisma/star-quality/good looks/acting talent, but what he lacks in this movie is a good script. It became tedious about halfway through. I can watch an actor, even So Ji Sub, light cigarettes and act cool only so many times in one movie before it gets boring.
The weirdest part is the on-set rape that no one seems to think is any big deal. Made no sense at all.
How does Ohm keep getting lead roles? He is a terribly amateur, boring af actor with zero range. He always looks pissed off and drugged. Wonder if he has a BF among the Channel 8 suits.
Because 99.9% of the time a rotting corpse would have more energy, emotion, etc. on camera than Ohm does, either…
The commenter above probably works for Ohm's agency, and it's their job to run around the Internet telling people who notice what a bad actor he is to STFU.
Because 99.9% of the time a rotting corpse would have more energy, emotion, etc. on camera than Ohm does, either…
You are ridiculous. BL watchers like you are the reason Thailand puts out so many terrible, lazy BLs. The producers know people like you will watch absolutely anything put in front of them, no matter how lame, and be grateful for it.
And THEN go in comment sections and tell people who dare to criticize what needs criticizing to STFU.
Please keep your STFU comments to yourself next time.
I agree with a lot of what FrothyMix wrote below, but my rating is 7/10.
This film had a great many moments/scenes that were engaging and powerful, but as a whole, it felt meandering to me. No through-line to follow. Every main character became unlikable to me so I didn't much care what happened to them.
I just rewatched this film after years but care to explain where did they try to normalize r@pe or domestic abuse?…
What you saw in the movie is what happened IN the movie, not in real life. The people who did nothing in reaction to bad actions did so within the context of the movie, not in real life. You've seen this movie. Do you now feel like going out and raping anyone because it seems "normal?" No, you don't. Do you think you're smarter or more perceptive than other people who saw this film and who are now running around raping people? I hope you don't think that because they're not.
The fact that you left your comment proves the point: You don't feel rape is normal, do you?
Someone said it was just a crew member or random person so that they didn't have to pay an another actor by showing…
lol I bet that's true, judging from the lack of extras to make the exterior scenes look like an actual, real college. Did you notice how deserted the campus always looked?
the episodes could have been longer, but was really good nonetheless, I just wish they had a longer kissing scene…
Typical of Korean BLs starring an "idol." The guy playing Dong Wook is a low-level K-Popper, which means this is his management company riding the BL wave with a gay-bait, mostly tease version of a BL. That said, there WAS actual lip movement after the initial fish-kiss in both instances. But that stupid thing where we get three or four, repetitive shots of two actor's faces moving together from different angles, accompanied by that weird, "whooshing" sound, is a way of making a short, fairly passionless smooch look like more than it is.
For your first question, because dong wook felt sleepy around do hyun, so when he saw him in storage room he sleep…
I interpreted that scene as Do Hyun overhearing "I only want to sleep with him" and thinking it meant "All I want from him is sex," which would upset him if he wanted MORE than that. But I'm not sure if that works either, because in the scene where Dong Wook is melodramatically withdrawing from school ahead of schedule, and doing it in the rain of course, Do Hyun chases after him and is obviously not upset about what he seemed to overhear and misunderstand.
So does that mean he wanted to "just have sex" with Dong Wook too, and was pissed that DW didn't follow through? Surely him overhearing that remark means he misinterpreted it to mean "I only want to bang him." Because the guy DW was talking to asked him "Do you like Do Hyun?" To which DW replied "I just want to sleep with him." Which equals, to someone overhearing this, "no, I don't like him, I just want to have sex with him"...yes?
Frankly, I doubt if the director knows what the exact reading of all the above is. The show overall felt messy, so why not that too? I can't believe I spend my time obsessing over the fine details of poorly made Korean BLs. lol But I do!
Best part of this series was the fan service episode, 8.5. That was probably required as part of the k-popper's contract.
Well, thank goodness that's over, though I had a couple of feels in the last two eps. However, ep. 8 felt like a collection of alternate final scenes, strung together because the director couldn't decide which one to use. I thought it was over five times. Best line of the series: "Would you check?" (After the ice cube went down Dong Wook's pants.) A shame we didn't get to see Dong's dong. I wonder how many takes it took to get thru that scene without laughing. I find Woo Ji Han very appealing and he's the better of the two actors. But then, k-pop boy wasn't given much to do except look blank and depressed and arrogant. Plot was absurdly, and weakly, built around dumb, manufactured misunderstandings, even for a BL. Some of the scenes felt out of order. THREE water fights? Really? But hey, no one got a fever. I like the actress who played the coach, even though her character was somewhat annoying. I wish the plot had given her a girlfriend. I wish Do Hyun had chosen the loyal, handsome Seung Joo over the dour, arrogant, blank vampire Dong Wook.
OK, well I liked it more than disliked it so that's something. 6.5/10
Well, they did do KP dirty by making VP an afterthought regardless of how copy of/ inspired by/ based on novel/manga/manhwa…
Yes, I'm desperately obsessed. You, whoever you are, is all I think about.
Oh, you hadn't mentioned "inconsistencies" before either. You keep making up shit and acting like you already said it.
Now we're back to square one. Is "square one" a figure of speech in your language? There is no rule book requiring that an adaptation be, in part or in whole, consistent with its source material. And seeing as how one of the source's co-writers also wrote the screenplay, how dare you question her judgement? lol
Also, there's the simple fact that often, what works on in a book does not work so well onscreen.
How many times do we need to go round and round about this? I get it: You're a KP novel obsessive, fangirl. And that's OK.
End of ep. 6: Finally, something interesting happened! I loved it when sleeping pill stood up the vampire and then threatened him on the basketball court. YEEEEEEEEEESSSS! If you don't want to see someone, why would you play basketball with them? Woo Ji Han is a pretty good actor. The k-popper mainly just looks blank most of the time. If you truly slept only ten or 20 minutes a night, with many nights of no sleep at all, you would be unable to function, let alone attend school, which is why the sleeping pill's assumption that the vampire only wants to be around him to get some badly-needed shut-eye makes perfect sense. Then we go back in time to the overheard remark in high school and it all makes sense...at least sort of...because if he was pissed in high school after what he overheard and misunderstood, why would he start warming back up to the vampire in college? This thing is a mess, as are most Korean, gay-bait BLs.
I hope this doesn't get all wrapped up without some more intense conflict.
Well, they did do KP dirty by making VP an afterthought regardless of how copy of/ inspired by/ based on novel/manga/manhwa…
I'm very happy. I don't have to assume anything about you. Everything I wrote is crystal clear from your comments.
You are ok with creators changing things...as long as the changes "make sense" to YOU and the imagined hive-mind you consider yourself a part of.
Are you arguing the makers of KP deliberately produced an adaptation they knew the hive-mind would dislike? Why would they do that? Didn't that psycho-liar-stalker chick help write the screenplay? Wouldn't that kind of negate your arguments here? Wouldn't she know better than the hive-mind what needed to be changed for the adaptation?
So...have you now changed your approach to one of arguing that a "majority" is the same as a totality? If a majority of fangirls agree the sky is kelly green on a clear day, does that mean they are "objectively" correct? lol
End of episode #5, and getting lamer with each installment. The first two episodes had me interested, but it's been downhill since then. Tropes, bandaged knees, umbrellas, rain on sunny days, soju, soon one of them will get a fever. A pace like molasses in February, ie. glacial. Terrible writing: Why is Dong Wook staying with Do Hyun with the excuse of an injured foot? So what? He walks to and from campus, from room to room, he can shower himself, and cook too. There's no reason at all Do Hyun would agree to it. Dong Wook's arrogance and presumptuous attitude is off-putting to the point of creepy. There's no way this approach would work on someone who obviously already loathes him. Extremely low budget, which explains why there is never another soul on that campus, except in the very first classroom scene. Since then, the place feels and looks like a deserted island. Why and how did Do Hyun get all these awards, trophies, and autographed basketballs from playing on what appears to be some kind of low-level league team? Again with deserted: Not a soul in the grandstands. I could go on, but what's the point?
I like the vibe between the leads. I find both attractive and low-key charismatic, although Dong Wook has a vampire affect going on. The basketball scenes are relatively well-played and filmed for a BL; the actors actually worked on being able to play like real athletes, at least to a minimally believable level. The music in those scenes is used well too.
Moving into episode #6, that's all this thing has going for it. Oh, and as is sadly the case with many Korean BLs, they all have too much clown-white makeup on.
All of this is largely explained by the fact that the vampire guy is a low-level K-Pop idol, which means this is a gay-bait, low-budget effort by a management company to cash in on the BL craze without putting much on the line. There WAS, however, some lip movement during what started out as a dead-fish kiss, so props for that.
Well, they did do KP dirty by making VP an afterthought regardless of how copy of/ inspired by/ based on novel/manga/manhwa…
Good God, now you're just being obtuse, or worse, stubborn.
I started writing an in-depth explanation of the difference between "objective" and "subjective," but you think you already understand that, which you don't, so I'll not waste my time. Google it, and if you still claim what you write above is accurate, I'll assume you are lying or intellectually disabled.
And now you've gone another step into absurdity by asserting that the "audience" is one thing, with some kind of interconnected hive-mind, not a collection of individuals with different brains and different life experiences. So, of course, YOU know what that audience/brain "felt" about KP, and it magically happens to be exactly what YOU felt.
It doesn't surprise me that someone who doesn't grasp objective vs. subjective also thinks using "literally" in all-caps makes their argument, whatever the hell it is, more coherent and convincing. The word you're looking for is "actually," not "literally." Google them. There is a difference between those two words also.
Let me guess: You think the KinnPorsche novel, half-written by that psycho stalker chick, is objectively a "masterpiece," right? It's flawless like the sky is blue, and how could anyone think otherwise.
Well, they did do KP dirty by making VP an afterthought regardless of how copy of/ inspired by/ based on novel/manga/manhwa…
Either making changes is either OK or NOT OK, it can't be both depending on you. lol
Let me try to help: Making changes is OK, but you don't like the changes that were made in KP. Right? D
You should know that in art, there is no such thing as "objectively" anything, because every viewer or reader or audience member receives the art from a singular perspective, their own, thus every perspective is very much SUBjective. :D
Mile and Apo had phenomenal chemistry and charisma, which was my favorite thing about the show, plus their make out scenes and the half-second view of Miles' butt. :)
The weirdest part is the on-set rape that no one seems to think is any big deal. Made no sense at all.
Dropped.

You never said anything about "incoherence majorly," whatever that means. Quit making shit up. :D
Honest question, although I know you don't like answering questions: Is English your second or third language? Also, how old ARE you?
And no, I have absolutely nothing else in my life except you and this discussion.
You are ok with creators changing things...as long as the changes "make sense" to YOU and the imagined hive-mind you consider yourself a part of.
