tbh 2nd leads were pretty annoying first few eps more like first half.. everyone saying they watched this drama for 2nd leads but it was opposite for me they made me want to drop it.. i started this drama for bailu and completed it for her it was a great watch

expecting leads to be green flag from day one is unrealistic this is a historical drama and men back then were ofc trash influenced by their surroundings this drama has 36 eps they probably won't be wasting time unless they are up for character development of these ppl.. it's kind of realistic it will all depend on if they want to change themselves or stay rotten, mls are kinda trash yes but I've seen dramas were mls were worse before they fell in love and before they regret whatever they did.. if they stay rotten till the end then that would be questionable ofc

i really love the lore in the drama but it doesn't do justice to og at all.. if they really wanted to make a drama like this they should have just made one without telling it's novel adaptation.. if you're not gonna follow the novel then don't touch it for god's sake and butcher it up allow someone else to do it justice and make ur own plot with new characters..

right but I would have rather taken the novel one where he drowns in regrets yuemis love was pure and she does deserve her happy ending and it would have been cooler if it was fully connected we would have gotten xianxia universe one telling story of ancient another what happened after ancients
