Curious thing that at the beginning of this show I was like yeah the pacing is a bit too lacking?, but now it actually makes more sense in-universe. We are not even 2 weeks into the story since the show has started. It's been like 10 days or something since the first episode (they even mention days of the week practically every episode, a very particular choice). Looking at it from this perspective, I think the story is progressing quite well. It makes so much more sense in this context, but I also get why people may not like it on the outside. I kind of enjoy it now.
About the kiss being seemingly out of nowhere - the kitchen scene (the egg scene™) was the first time Kuea really…
And as for lian not showing him how to cut the egg (lolol) - they are going to the supermarket next week and I'm assuming he is going to show him how to do it (it has me rolling, I love it)
About the kiss being seemingly out of nowhere - the kitchen scene (the egg scene™) was the first time Kuea really opened up about what is going on through his head (!!!) and only then it truly dawned on lian that they are not on the same page AT ALL like he thought and he's been hurting kuea. Like lian can be a bit thick but he does have good intentions and he's trying to do something about it.
It's a car scene 2.0, upgraded, like when kuea was talking about lian not loving him and not wanting to have any intimacy, so here lian just acted on all the feelings and showed him. He wants kuea to open up to him on his own and he's finally going to go about it in the right way. This is character progression you need in the middle of a story. This is literally it, it's not that complex.
I think plenty of folks here like it. I'm not one of them. But I feel there's equal representation of viewpoints…
No, it's just that behavior such as yours which I have seen multiple times online throughout the years saddens me and however silly it may sound, it badly influences the world around us so I sometimes speak up against it. I have nothing against you, but behavior such as yours seems troubling. I mean you seem to spend a lot of your time in this comment section focusing on negativity. Again, I wish you well but it's troubling

Lol everyone's always welcome to voice their opinions. But there's a difference between constructive criticism and actively and wilfully nitpicking all details of a show just because you dont like it. And spending so much time on it to the point of obsession. Couldn't be me. I'd rather focus on things I enjoy and spread positivity ^^
There are times when Lian just looks at Kuea in the face, and his eyes are communicating his feelings. I give…
Zee is so amazing in these emotional scenes, like his eyes speak volumes, you just have to really look at him and you know what his character is thinking. Very nuanced.
I know I'm not the only one not over the kiss because technically it's so beautifully directed. But I also can't get over the emotional impact of that scene. However ridiculous the egg setup (I love it though, it's funny and it makes in-universe sense), it was kuea's breaking point about their relationship and lian's moment of realisation that he messed up badly and has been misunderstanding kuea the whole time. And because lian's quite bad with communication, as always he poured all of his love into action (that's been his love language so far, though that's not necessarily what kuea really needs). And can we talk about how consensual that kiss was? All of those pauses and checking kuea's reaction. And paralleling the car kiss, this time sober. ALSO I can't get over how lian lifts kuea on the counter, placing him above himself, both physically and figuratively, more so because it's a stark contrast to how lian was always towering over kuea. I think it's a good midpoint of the story. We're halfway there.
everyone here seems to either dislike it or hate it but everywhere else, the reactions are completely opposite…
exactly, i've also seen quite a few positive reactions on other websites, meanwhile mdl became a swamp for haters. I'm not talking about people who do not vibe with the show, i'm talking about hate watchers who are driving the hate campaign here. this us ridiculous. get a life
