The rating just keeps dropping and it honestly should. This show was a waste of time. If you love Chang An well sorry, but he gets NO LOVE. During the shows peak in the 10s episodes I would have given this show a 9/10, but now I'm not going to. Ji Chang Wook made this show and without him I would have given up watching.

I don't see TH being evil next season (if there is one). Especially if RB comes back. He was willing to let RB have BC. It is probably CA that is getting him to act extreme because of their bad history. Imagine the guy you hate the most gets the girl of your dreams. It would drive you nuts like it is to TH. I would hate CA and BC not ending up together because of the fact that this season is focused so much on romance. It would be like a waste if nothing happened between them. I feel like the other season wasn't as focused on romance, but this season is all about the romance. I would rather have a great season 2 ending and no season 3. This is because both the actors of RB and CA may not be able to come back. Yang Yang is getting bigger and probably wouldn't do this show unless they paid him a lot. Something is happening with the Chinese government that could prevent Korean actors from being on Chinese shows so this could prevent JCW from coming back. So if both these things happen they would have to get new actors (which would drive fans mad) or write them out. Season 3 wouldn't be good or it would feel like a reset.

Honestly, season 1 and season 2 don't seem too connected to me. You need season 1 knowledge to understand Ruo Bai and his meaning to everyone. But if you don't really care about the other characters backstory then season 1 isn't important since it's not relevant in s2. There's so much focus on CA/BC/TH that the other characters don't get a lot of scene time and are irrelevant to the plot. One of the main reasons I love s2 is for the romance, but everyone has different preferences. I only watched a few episodes of s1 and read recaps, but s2 seems more lighthearted and way more dramatic. But I really love this season for those things haha.
Has anyone else noticed in the opening around the 1:00 mark, CA is fighting a guy in a red uniform. Is it Ting Hao? Looks like him to me. If so, this has me really interested in why he's fighting for Feng Yun. Is he doing this of his own free will because he hates the guy a lot. Or maybe he has to or else someone will get hurt like his sister. It wouldn't be too hard to threaten him with his sister since she's training there.
But if it's Ting Hao just being a prick, it's not too hard to believe since the last episodes show that he can't think straight.

For people wondering if they need to watch season 1, I personally say no. I am up to date with season 2 and I'm too lazy to watch season 1 so I read recaps of the season and there isn't much connection with season 1 and 2. Except for a few things, season 1 events aren't referenced. Season 1 seemed to focus more on all the characters and seemed kinda slow pace to me. I didn't like how they were high school students and it had it's slice of life moments. Season 2 is more focused on competitions and romance. Plus I really like Bai Cao and Chang An so I think it's them that really make the show for me.
