Ok wow. I actually tried watching this drama before but couldn't get into it but gave it another try now bc I saw a very good edit of Shangguan Qian and she seemed like the type of character I like and was correct. Shangguan Qian completely stole the show for me and I am obsessed with her character, Lu YuXiao was amazing. Her and sml were amazing but also kudos to Yu Shuxin, I have never watched a drama from her bc all her other roles I know of are the cutesy/weak type which was also why I never picked up the fairy demon drama even though it was very popular, but I liked her in this role. I really enjoyed when fl and sfl worked together or were on screen together as I like their dynamic a lot. I hope there is a 2nd season as I really want to see more of Shangguan Qian's character and how her story resolves with sml as well.

I gave it a rewatch because despite the weak script/plot, the visuals were stunning. I am so obsessed with Yang Mi's Tushan Honghong. It's not often we get a female main character like her who is more powerful than the male lead and is one of the strongest characters overall in the drama lore/universe. This character is the typical male lead character (stoic, cold, aloof) we usually see so it was refreshing to see it reversed. Often times when we get a strong female lead char, the male lead char is equally or more powerful.
However, I do wish they incorporated actual fighting/martial arts choreo because I've seen Yang Mi do them in her past works and she is great.

Personally, I don't think this drama was as a bad as people claim it to be and I have watched the whole thing. It does have a weak script but was not unwatchable. Yang Mi's Tushan Honghong was great and extremely gorgeous.
