frankly i really love zhao lusi’s character and haodu! I haven’t started watching though, just some clips here and there because my drama instincts are telling me that they won’t end up together in the end.. anyone who has read the manhua can tell me if they end up together? because if they don’t...
hey yall , saw the really good reviews I went to watch the drama, but I am kinda confused about one thing, what…
Basically, to sum it up: Sifeng, despite being a cultivator, is actually a golden bird demon in this current life, which makes him the enemy of mortal cultivators like Xuanyang Sect etc. He is hiding it with the help of some spells. HOWEVER, it is later revealed that Sifeng was the son of the heavenly emperor (i.e. the brother of Hao Chen) ten lives ago. He was also the one who protected Xuan Ji when she was the War God.
Angst?! The angst and the love are so well played that it's very manageable. I would say that the angst is 10…
Thanks so much for your response! Sigh yea I watched all those youtube clips of Sifeng spitting out blood in like at least 3 different scenarios, and I also saw some spoilers of them having some intense swordfight at the end so I was really scared that I would not be able to handle it
just a little spoiler - the FL and ML goes through 10 lifetimes together, however the show is mainly based on…
Omg thanks so much for answering my questions...sigh okay I usually prefer stories with a sweeter side but from everyone's responses I think I will really give this a try. Thanks so much!
Hi wondering if someone could enlighten me a little before I decide to pick up this show! 1) Is this show is about one lifetime or about all nine lives that both of them go through? Really confused from all the spoilers I've read so far... 2) Is this show really incredibly angsty or still manageable? Maybe for reference I would rate Untamed like 7/10 on the angst scale, and Ashes of Love as a 8.5...what would this show be out of 10? Thanks in advance!
In all honesty, I did not really enjoy this show as much as the others on this site. The later episodes were bearable and quite enjoyable to watch, but I really had to stop watching this show a few times from around the start to the middle....For people like me, who aren't really onboard with "love at first sight" tropes, this show is definitely going to be hard to watch because the FL just loves the ML unconditionally after their first meeting ... At the start, she does lots of embarrassing things that made me want to personally enter the show just to hold her back and give her a talk HAHA! And FL just forgives ML for everything even when she gets mad at him.
But admittedly this show is cute (though a little unnecessarily draggy because of the sponsors/investors). I found myself pausing the show because the second hand embarrassment was real strong, but I was still chuckling and grinning underneath it all. I guess if you want a show where you don't have to think much and just chill around with an occasional touch of angst (and loads of flashbacks), this show is for you.
Usually I stay silent on this website and just lurk around reading drama reviews. But I feel like I have to say my piece on this drama. (Hope I don't get hate for this, please read this with an open mind, I do not mean any harm). If you are a seasoned Jdrama viewer than me, you would have probably realised that Jdramas often pride themselves on coming up with quirky yet refreshing premises for their shows. This is absolutely not one of them. After the first episode, I thought this show had potential. It was comedic initially but trust me when I say this show gets creepier and creepier. I decided to give the show a go up till episode 5, given how many positive reviews this was getting on this site but I couldn't take it when the girl finally gives in to him and wants him by her side. Is this a case of Stockholm Syndrome? This guy literally guilt trips her by standing under her house for hours on end, forces a kiss on her multiple times, tricks her into carrying him into his room etc using the most elaborate and psycho plans hatched weeks before with his secretary involved. EVEN AFTER SHE HAD REPEATEDLY DECLINED HIS ADVANCES. And the weirdest thing of all is the reason why he loves her. What if it had been another girl who treated him violently instead? Then would he just give up on her? And her friend at work is hopeless and just continues to egg her on instead of protecting her. Now, before you say I'm being politically correct or a SJW, I feel like we really need to draw a line between humour and just outright immoral story plots. I had no problem with the first 2 episodes. But beyond that, it is too much. This cycle of abuse and forgiveness continues, and you can see the girl get moved with each episode. But moved by his extreme advances? This show sends out a very poor message - "It's okay if a guy pursues you with unyielding and forceful tactics, it just shows he is persistent and loves you. Just accept him already!" If you still enjoy this kind of comedy, I honestly would not judge you. I do not judge anyone leave your reviews here. I can see why it would be humorous to some. But if you are a young girl, please avoid this drama at all costs because this is not the correct way someone should pursue you.
