I agree with you. The first reason i stopped watching kdrama is because it's becoming so 'heavy'. Back then kdrama is my therapy, but now i need therapy after watching kdrama 🤣 Not to mention kdrama nowadays always end on a cliffhanger, then i have to wait months for the sequel. Even if it doesn't have cliffhanger ending, the long duration (over 1 hour) throws me off.
One of my ways to get out from the slump is to watch shorter drama, most of them are BLs, kmovies, and I also tried watching dramas from other countries like China/Japan/Thailand. But eventually i got stuck again. So i take a break and rewatch my old favorite western shows and animes. Now i slowly back to watching asian dramas.
Another way to get out from slump is to stop binge the whole drama at once. I tried watching at least 1 episode a day. It feels weird at first, since i'm a binger, but it gets better. Watching it in little bits helps me to enjoy the drama more.
