I couldn’t agree more 😭😭😭. Others don’t realize how sad this is for us BL fans. It is hard to see a danmei get ruined like that. What’s even worse is the fear that they’ll keep doing the same to other BL stories in the future. Honestly, I’d rather they just stop adapting BLs altogether if they’re going to keep butchering them like this.

This is so sad ..... Why would you take a BL story and turn it into a straight romance? I mean I am sure there are already countless straight love stories out there.

I just want to express my love for The Untamed here .. I still remember it like it was yesterday. It was 2020, and I was completely obsessed with period Chinese dramas. That’s when I came across The Untamed. I can’t believe I was so hesitant to start it just because I thought it didn’t have a romance but something about it pulled me in, so I thought, Why not? Let’s give it a try.

At first, I honestly didn’t even catch on that XZ and LZ were in love (Looking back, that was kind of dumb of me). I was watching it on Viki with the floating comments turned on, and someone mentioned that it was based on a BL novel. I was like, Wait… what in the world is BL? So I looked it up and that was the beginning of my obsession with The Untamed and an opening for a new world.

It holds such a special place in my heart. I’ve rewatched it more times than I can count. I went all in .... I read the novel, watched the donghua, and even listened to the audio drama.

The Untamed kicked off my love for bromance and BL dramas overall. It didn’t stop there ... I dove headfirst into danmei novels, along with manga, manhwa, and manhua.

I miss those days .... Wish I can go back and watch The Untamed for the first time again.

So sad that we won't get dramas like The Untamed or WOH again because of those homophobic f*ckers.
