As a general rule of thumb, I've accepted that adaptations are worse than their source material. So, whenever possible, I try to read the source instead. Unfortunately, it's hard to get hold of an English translation for this novel.

Love how she was hesitant to shoot but was okay with setting him ablaze which is so much worse.
