Just finished it yesterday and I felt so empty afterwards... Literally stared at my ceiling in the night for a good hour processing what just happened in all those 20 episodes. I felt so much emotions when watching it, so intense, so emotional and I found myself waking up crying reminiscing some of the scenes, especially the early happy ones lol. It's so hard to let go of this drama. Objectively it's far from a perfect drama and has so many flaws (I even put it on hold after watching the first two episodes) but subjectively it's a 10/10 in my book.
5/10. Tryhard edgy. If I were a chuunibyo I'd think this movie is godlike cool. There are lots of dark, disturbing movies with actual depth out there. Though Nana Komatsu was stellar here. She's the epitome of "manic pixie dream girl" trope but an edgier, Japanese version.
God....only episode 2 in and it's been a long time since I'm this mad watching a drama. I'm not specifically a fan but I'm used to historical/martial arts C-drama/movies (both romance and non romance) and looking at the high rating of this drama that's adapted from a chinese novel I thought, huh, why not?
Episode 1 was okay, while episode 2....main female lead's action was beyond frustrating just to keep the plot going (lazy writing at its finest). I wouldn't mind if it's showed that she's stereotypically airheaded from the start, but she was portrayed as a reasonable character and suddenly she did two(!!!) unbelievable stuffs that would drive you crazy. Top that with a modern OST ballad that's so out of place (I had to mute it). You'll just pause and take a moment to collect yourself. Sigh... the disappointment... What the hell happened here?
I know the plot is going to be good but I didn't know the execution would be this bad. If only I'd read the warning reviews first then I could enjoy it by watching it ironically. I'll watch the rest of the story after I meditate and probably the song would grow on me so I could sing along like The Heirs' annoying OST. Love is the momeeeeent!
Tl;dr good plot potential, crappy execution. Watch at your own risk.
