I think the anti American propaganda was added to kiss the Chinese government’s ass hoping the show would bypass the censorship. It’s indeed not the focus of the show. The focus of the show is the romantic love between RLZ and LJS. I’m glad that many people can feel the same way i do. But not you tho LOL.

Nothing official but to my best guess, they didn’t make much money from season 1 due to the domestic ban. So, they don’t want to make season 2.

First they didn’t include it because they were planning to make season 2 and everything was held off in season 1 would be continued in season 2. However, their plan changed and season 2 was canceled. That’s why they decided to release the extra ending to completely close season 1.

Same here. I have watched the ending countless times because of the song. It matches the situation perfectly.

No kissing but the way they look at each other, take care of each other, worry for each other and long for each other makes my heart melted. They do things that i think only lovers do for each other. Also, there are several romantic undertones here and there, especially from RLZ to LJS. This drama despite being censored gives me more butterflies than other explicit BLs. No doubt my number 1 fav BL of the year 2024.

After i found out about Stay With Me and other Chinese BLs, I stopped watching other countries’ BLs especially the Thai ones. Chinese BLs have set the bar so high in terms of production despite being censored. Most Chinese BLs have good story telling, acting, character developments, cinematography and they always do a good job of making the audience engaged to the story from start to end. I didn’t have a single yawn while watching SWM. Korean BLs give me a low budget impression, at least from a few that i have watched. There are no Korean BLs that i really like. Thai BLs are the worst. I feel like Thailand is making BLs is just for fan service. They are really bland to my taste. I agree with you that it’s so hard to find a BL like SWM. It’s because of the ban in China. I have said this multiple times here: if only Chinese film makers were allowed to produce BLs at full force, China would rule the BL world. Btw, you can try The Spi Realm, i have been obsessed with that BL recently. Who knows you might like it.
