The way Itsuki smiles in the restaurant at the beginning of the movie completely melts my heart. This man is full of hopes despite the tragedy he has been through.
This series really hit hard for me, because I'm queer and was in a relationship with a woman for 2 years. Neither…
We can’t say that there is no sexual desire in the relationship of Kurosawa and Adachi. Kurosawa wanted to eat Adachi so badly. Adachi wanted it too. I believe they do kiss and do all kinds of intimidate things in their relationship. It’s just that we don’t see it literally in the drama. Regardless, i still got ton of butterflies watching this drama. That is what makes it special to me. Loved the chemistry of both actors.
I can’t with the comment “it put too much focus on the toxic work culture without making it meaningful” below. Seriously did we even watch the same show? The office drama is Hiro’s journey to regain self confidence, to see his real worth and to fall for Kai. In the end, Hiro did quit his job and came back home with Kai because he knew that Kai was way more important to him than his current job. And, he quit only right after he finished a big project as a team leader. It proves that he didn’t run away from job because he was incapable and weak. He ran away from that toxic job as a strong, confident and capable man which Kai has shaped him into. Wasn’t that meaningful enough to you???
Well this is not a BL. It is a queer movie. Their love was challenged by the norms but love won eventually. At the start of the movie, Yuki walked on the line to meet Akira during their childhood. At the end of the movie, Yuki also walked on the line to meet Akira but in the afterlife. The ending makes me so emotional. Akira passed before Yuki, probably due to lung cancer. Yuki then lived until the age of 82 and reunited with Akira in the afterlife. What an eternal love it is. I’m sobbing.
All the comments calling it boring are causing me physical pain. And comparing it to My Personal Weatherman, what?…
People have the right to feel what they feel. But i feel bad for them when they can’t feel how great this drama is LOL Anyway, i’m gonna start my rewatch tonight ;))
Kai is always hungry to eat Hiro. He must have tried really hard to resist his desire the entire time living in the same house with Hiro LOL. And, that kiss was passionate and real. I could see Kai’s lips moving. They didn’t just touch their lips to fake a kiss. They actually kissed.
Unique story. Great acting. Great chemistry. Concise plot. Relatable real life events. Handsome cast. I give it 10 out of 10. I have started to like short drama like this. I’m so fed up with Thai BLs being dragged to 12 long eps when the whole storyline can fit in just 2 or 3 eps max.
Kai stole my heart. I like his confidence, his possessiveness, his height, his broad shoulders and his cute face.
I like Hiro too. He is so cute. His shyness makes him a perfect match for Kai.
Cherry Magic indeed proves that if a BL is done with class and good taste, it doesn’t need to have french kisses/intimate scenes to convey the chemistry/love between the main leads. Not a single kiss of the main couple is shown but i still got so many butterflies watching the entire show. Definitely one of the best BLs of all time.
The office drama hit me hard. I myself feel stressed at work too. Not to the extreme as Hiro’s situation but i can feel his pain. The difference is that i don’t have a Kai to lean on. This drama gives me hope that I meet my Kai some day.
I have heard about the corporate slave culture in Japan. And now i see it via this series. I like JBLs in a way that they let us witness the romantic development through a slice of life. It feels so realistic unlike Thai BLs. Really like Kai’s confidence. Another great ep.
I've been cooling a bit on this series since the beginning, which I loved so much - it's taking too long to get…
Why not? Kai had a past with Hiro. He could have affection for Hiro already when they were younger. You can tell Hiro has always been in Kai’s head eversince they parted. He recognized Hiro immediately when seeing the worn out Hiro lying on the street.
Kai is such a heartthrob. He is possessive and protective which reminds me of Wu Bi from Stay With Me. Interestingly, they both delivered the same line: “Hiro is mine” (“Su Yu is mine” for Wu Bi). On the other hand, Hiro is such a cutie. He is soft and timid. I mean he is a perfect match for Kai. I completely fell for them and this drama. BL fans shouldn’t miss.
“I want to top you”. I spilled my water when Chi Cheng said that to Wu Sou Wei. This show is hilarious. A low budget project but surprisingly good. After watching Stay With Me, I have been looking for Chai Ji Dan’s work and this one doesn’t disappoint me at all. Chi Cheng and Wu Sou Wei give me a lot of butterflies.
Amazing, totally 10/10. I’ve watched it until episode 22 so far. Knowing S2 was cancelled and how the season…
Ep 23 is totally fine to watch. First half of ep 24 is fine too. Just stop at the scene where Wu Bi and Su Yu were brushing their teeth together. Below is the spoilers:
Ep 24 indeed broke my heart at the end but the car incident scene is so well executed. You can tell how much Wu Bi and Su Yu love each other just by that scene. The way Wu Bi reassures Su Yu when he finds out the brake is not working. The way Su Yu trusts Wu Bi and closes his eyes per Wu Bi’s request. The way Wu Bi looks at eye-closed Su Yu for the last time betore sacrificing himself in the crash. It’s so painful but romantically beautiful at the same time. It’s just so well executed by the director and both actors. This is something we can only find on the widescreen, let alone a BL drama. China indeed took BLs to a whole new level. If only they were not banned, we would have a lot of high quality Chinese BLs. After Stay With Me, I have struggled watching other BLs, especially the Thai ones. Still can’t enjoy any other BLs. It will take me a long time to get over Wu Bi and Su Yu.
Coming back to this thread, my old home, because i still haven’t moved on from this beautiful BL. As i have always said, Stay With Me despite being censored gives me more butterflies than all the BLs that i have watched in my life. If only China were allowed to produce BLs at full force, they would be the king of the BL industry. Sorry Not Sorry Thailand.
“Damn It. I want you”
