What bothers me most (as a westerner viewer perhaps) is when even though the leads are obviously over 25, and…
I totally agree with you! In a lot of kdramas (not all) the topic is weirdly completely avoided! It's like sex doesn't exist. It's sometimes super refreshing because I watch a lot of American TV shows where they bang like 5 seconds after meeting without showing them going on any dates or anything. Nothing wrong with that, but I think writers sometimes forget that there are people who aren't like that. But at the same time, I love when sex is openly talked about. For example: *SPOILER of What's Wrong With Secretary Kim*
I was so shocked about how openly they talked about sex in this show. Like they talked about Yeon Joon's sex drive for several episodes and Yeon Joon asked Mi So to have sex directly like when does that ever happen in a kdrama??!
I'm on episode 4 and it's getting absolutely unbearable watching all of the guys throw themselves at soo ah just because she's pretty. They know nothing about her but worship her due to her outside apperance. It makes me so angry because in reality, she's such evil, manipulative, and a attention seeker. I love this drama for showing us the different ways society treats people they deem attractive vs unattractive. I could write an essay on how refreshing and groundbreaking this drama is!
It's Soobin from Cosmic Girls :) Her OST was only realeased today
Thank you! The drama is ending in 7 episodes, so I assumed that it wasn't going to be included in the official OST. This happened with the drama Pasta where a certain song was played every episode, but it never ended up being a part of the official OST for some reason.
Does anyone know the singer of the "Slowly Slowly" song that is played in every episode? I have been looking everywhere! It's weird that it isn't on the ost soundtrack but it's the song that's played the most...
The premise of this seemed too cliche, but I'm only 30 min into episode 1 and it's actually really good!! The writers put a spin on the classic rich guy trope by having him be narsassistic and the comedy is on point.
I'm on episode 16. I have really enjoyed this drama so far but I feel like Seung Joo is acting kind of ungrateful. It feels like the writers are trying to stretch the plot by adding this conflict, which is fine, but not when it goes on for 3 episodes
Just finished this. and I'm super surprised at the high rating. I think the acting, cast, and romance was a 10/10, but the plot was bad and the writing was poor. The characters weren't fleshed out at all. Also didn't like the sexist and LGBT jokes. This is a definitely a very average drama.
I stopped watching this at episode 2 ... should I give it another shot?
Definitely give it another shot! Like you, I was thinking about dropping it after episode 2. Something just wasn't clicking. It definitely gets better starting from episode 3 and 4.
I don't think that Gender Bender is a Korean Drama cliche. It's just that Korean dramas do this "trend" thing, where one drama involves a certain topic, and then other dramas copy that topic. The trend for 2015 was definitely psychological dramas and transformation dramas (physical appearance). Who knows what this years trend will be?
I like this drama but some issues are bothering me. Like the matter of consent. I dont like how Sun Ae kept going…
I totally agree with you. SoonAe has been really really getting on my nerves. Like, I love that she's pervy and different; plus she's hilarious, but her actions were so over the top and not funny at all in ep 4. I'm glad Bong Sun is back!
Does anyone else find Soon Ae a little annoying? Like someone just died and all she can
think about is how cute the police officer is?? I miss Bong Sun...
This is my first drama with Shin Se Kyung, so I don't have that bias of her that other people who have seen her act before have. As a main character, her acting is just as good as other Korean actresses! The main lead is awesome, and Nam Goong Min nails his role!!
