first of all you learn language TO use it. I told you already I finished today my teaching practise. I started conducting classes 2 weeks ago. I had classes in english first (later in german as well). and from the very beginning I talked to the kids in the target language. and they were totally surprised and stressed out. they kept repeating that I should speak polish since they don't understand but actually they did understand a very big part. but they were like paralysed! it's all because the teacher who normally teaches them doesn't let them speak. they just do translation exercises to practise a bit a newly learnt grammatical phenomenon and learn word lists. but there's no place for practical usage of the language. I know I don't speak perfect english but still- the kids can learn quite much from me. and I gave them a chance to speak- and you know what? I had to ask them to take it!

I really don't like her since I can't see anything I could learn from her apart from artificial language. I know, teachers should be perfect in language knowledge and their knowledge shouldn't be limited just to the rules of the language. but you know: people learn language not to be perfect but to communicate. I've heard so many times my german level is good and people don't want to believe I've learnt that all at school. I know proving language at the uni is all about proving grammar and vocab not about proving if you have anything to say but anyway- what about motivation?! but the worse thing ever is what she said to a friend ( i remind you she deals with that methodological stuff for years): Natalia, you cam take the exam but one way or another, you'll fail. is it what an educationalist says to their student? you know, there are also brilliant teacher but unluckily not that many...

you're totally right! it's what I though when I was wondering which studies should I chose- I'll speak at least 2 foreign language. even if I won't work in a dream place- at least I can go abroad without problems.
no worries- love novels. my answer is no better haha

no way! you went to vienna! so cool! it's my dream city, I wanted to go there on erasmus but it's an expensive city, I could afford being there...
you're right being in a foreign country isn't easy. i was in london last 2 months. for the first month I had nor friends apart from a friend I came to london and a few Poles i lived with. but then I started to have so many friends so i got a bit hard to leave... so I'm sure I'll be crying while I have to leave haha
oh, I see. a friend of mine studied something about intercultural relationships. i was wondering all the time what can people do after these studies. or I know a guy who studies philosophy. only philosophy. that is completely useless in my opinion. you know, people may say I'm stupid I study to become a teacher but at least it's a concrete job.

maybe she has no talent but there are people in this world who are talented and can learn language in many different way. she speaks very artificial language which no one uses. and her pronunciation is very tiresome.
in Poland it's stupid that what counts more are not polish unis but the foreign ones. so stupid. you can study at the best uni in Poland and fail to get the job in competition with someone who studied in much worse uni abroad. stupid.
now I'm going to germany and I think i'm gonna be busy. first month with getting used to being there, then with new friends and parties. and I have to write my bachelor thesis. i still have no idea what to write about. i have to chose a theme from methodological studies but I hate it. I finished my teaching practise today. I must admit- teaching is a hard work and is very tiring but theorising about it is way much tiresome.

i hate teachers treat as either as if we were complete idiots or as if we were so interested in the subject they teach. sometimes we get so easy tasks that I think I could do it in lower secondary school and sometimes they demands things we've never been taught and he have no idea about. or we have e.g. a teacher who deals with all that teaching methodology and she loves children- so what does she do? treat as like children in nursery school! wants us to sing songs for children and invent games which level is good for little children not for 21-year-old people! you know, it made me not like her. actually I don't like her cause she deals with methodology but herself behaves as if she didn't know anything about teaching and dealing with students. and she keep on repeating that we have to sit and learn all but heart as if you could learn language by heart.

but actually what people do after your studies? sorry for such a question. I find the studies very interesting but i have no idea how people use the results of the research. linguistics is very interesting as well. i didn't want to study any traditional philology since I don't like literature classes. I'm more concentrated on language in use. i know it's impossible to separate the language from its culture but somehow i prepere to learn about the culture in practise.

actually I have a feeling that I waste so much time at my univesity. I hoped I'd learn more and I still have so many classes which are poorlyprepared or which I find completely useless (yeah, these both things somehow go together with each other). I'm sure i have so much potential which is not used. I know i could do something on my own but we all know how hard is to take initiative and do something if we're not forced. the problem is that i study at the university wich is on the 2nd or 3rd place in our country's ranking. so i have no idea which uni could i chose so that i'm sure I won't waste my time and potential.
whe have you been to when you was on erasmus?
yeah, i have heard so many good things about the city from the germans so I'm sure I'll like it :D I can't wait to go there but I'm a bit stressed.

i don't really think polish system is good either. at least we have 3 month long holidays. then we have about 1,5 week xmas holidays, a free week after exam period at the end og january (with exam period there are 3 weeks free), not even a week of easter holidays. sometimes we have 5-7 days free in mai since we have 2 bank holidays- on 1st and 3rd of mai so if it's a good year we can have even 9 days off. and 4 day long holidays in mai/june cause of church holiday. it may seem a lot but it's not. I didn't really have much time i could spend at home with my family- I study and live in a city which is about 250 km away from my home.
I'm going to leipzig for erasmus echange.
oh wow! sounds really interesting! I had classes in intercultural communication but I do't think 90 min a week are enough to really know something about it. i study applied linguistics- german and english
