Thanks. I have known about this novel for years but never actually read it, now I am regretting it. I just found out Tong Hua is also the author for the famous Bu bu Jing Xin/Scarlet Heart. I watched the kdrama version of it. She is truly great at writing complex stories.

Yeah MDL is probably the only place where one can extensively discuss asian dramas. especially cdramas ( there are a few other places for kdramas I suppose). So I hope ppl at least keep the environment healthy here.

I think if people keep being narrow minded and only just care for their own ship and not the overall story it is their own loss because they simply won't be able to appreciate the beauty and essence of the story and characters.

Just got here and not entirely sure what's going on, but I got the gist. I saw earlier some people complaining about it being reverse-harem and now I see people having issues with XY.

Let's not forget that love can take different forms and she met these men in different stages of her life. She is not frivolous if she loves more than one man or even loves all of them.

For CX, he is her family and childhood friend, someone she has loved all her life. Jing or XL's existence will not change that. Their love can change and evolve but it will be there.

Jing is someone she saved, cared for and formed a friendship with. They lived together as family for a long time. He is devoted to her and respects her. He is someone rooted and could be her comfort and home. He is the guy she could always return to and he would embrace her with open arms.

As for XL, they formed the unlikeliest friendship. Their love may define logic but they indeed connected on some level, for he could take her to places she has never been, show her the beauty and wonders of the world like no else could. Sometimes people would just want to get away from harsh realities of life and find a secret place which would belong to just them. XL is her secret place.

She can love them in different ways and/or different reasons.

It is not a simple story where girl meets ML and falls in love and where the perfect 2ML exists only
to give the viewers a second lead syndrome and never to have his love returned by the FL.

TBH, I don't even see anyone here as the ML or 2ML or 3ML or 4ML. Their are all leads in their own story. Life brings people together. Whether they end up together or how long are together does not define their journey or depth of their feelings.

I love TLB. One of my favorites. I am probably the minority but I loved Wu Lei-Reba together. But the only drawback for me is, once they really get together they really don't have a lot of scenes. If you're in it for the romance then you might be a bit disappoint or maybe you'll enjoy the seconds leads. Both are slowburn romances though.
