I think that maybe the problem with Mad Dog may have been for those who watched it as it aired. I watched it in…
Same! I can't wait to watch Save Me. I'm also not one who will watch a drama until it's done, so I guess I can understand how that might have made for a different viewing experience. :)

So I just finished watching Mad Dog (literally based on the Woo Do Hwan mention in this post... lmao) - it's a shame you weren't a fan, and I certainly see where you're coming from in the lack of excitement department (after the first couple episodes anyway) but I *loved* it, so I really thank you for pointing it out in this list. Rag-tag ensembles who make their own family is like... my favorite thing, so I essentially ignored the fact that there was a story going on outside of that and focused only on all the characters I loved so much. Also, how is Jo Jae Yun so great in everything?

Literally the only thing I know about this drama is that I've seen a bunch of MewArt shit on Youtube and they are perfect and adorable IRL so I have to assume they will be perfect and adorable in this too.

Title The Lover
the 2 boys deserved a drama just for them
Yeah... After the first episode I just skipped to their parts. They deserved more than 5-7 minutes an episode.

I loved a LOT about this drama. A LOT. It started out kind of iffy (the cartoonish fight scenes etc made me worry it would be too much like Strong Woman Do Bong Soon's stupid side-plot) but I loved every one of the characters, and I loved the last few episodes in particular. If I could forget the very end (I feel cheated) this would be a near perfect drama for me.

On the one hand I keep going to start this comment with "Wow, people sure are sensitive about their dramas"... and on the other hand I saw someone diss Weightlifting Fairy in the comments and I want to yell about how wrong they are XD

1) My 2017 "missed-the-mark" dramas are:

- Voice: OH MY GOD I HATED THIS DRAMA MORE THAN ANYTHING. I am still mad almost a year later that anyone rated this above a 3. It probably didn't help that I watched it directly after I finished Signal (mistakenly thinking it would be as interesting) so comparatively it was even worse. The only redeeming factor was Kim Jae Wook as the psycho and they didn't even bother to give him anything decent to work with. The entire show is just repeating the same moment over and over for 10 minutes and working with the same lame plot device. The lead actress was absolutely awful. This was the first drama I ever saw Jang Hyuk in and if it was the only one I'd ever seen of his I'd think he was shit (luckily I have seen him in other things now and realize he is not shit. But this show. This show was shit. I just went and looked at the reviews and got infuriated all over again that it is rated 9.5.)

- Tomorrow With You: AHHH WHAT A MESS. Again, this is Signal's fault - I watched this because of Lee Je Hoon and I wish I hadn't. At what point were we supposed to believe our main couple had actually fallen in love? At what point were we even supposed to like either of the main characters? And (as I'll mention below in regards to Suspicious Partner) WHY DO SHOWS BOTHER PORTRAYING THESE BIG ROMANCES ONLY TO LEAVE US FEELING BITTER AT THE END.

2) I'm so glad that others seem to feel the way I did about Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. Per my original review in early 2017:

"Sometimes I am honestly bewildered by the shows that get high ratings and this is one of those cases. Despite having a solid central cast (aka the 3 leads), the show was a mess from start to finish. The slapstick/'poop humor' was a complete flop and would have been better left out entirely. The mafia storyline, while fine as a tertiary notion, was carried on for way too long and made no sense. It was also featured far too prominently as useless filler, especially closer to the end of the show. The romance was cute but as the show dragged on, became less appealing, culminating with a less-than-satisfying ending for our romantic leads. The only reason I even give 6 stars is the cute factor of the leads, and the awesome soundtrack." (Also, WHEN WILL JI SOO BE GIVEN A LEAD ROLE? GIMME JI SOO GETTING THE GIRL) (double also, I absolutely despised the way they portrayed her 'gay' supervisor in the latter half of the show).

3) There was so much I loved about Suspicious Partner... namely Choi Tae Joon's character (and Ji Chang Wook's 'Prosecutor Hair'). There were very funny parts and very cute parts and the original basis for the plot was promising. The leads were cute but the writer couldn't make up their mind on what to focus on, so we got a lackluster romance and a lackluster mystery. Don't get me started on the end - let's just say I absolutely don't see the point of bothering with a whole romance plot when you're just going to be like "And then they fought forever and were a terrible couple, the end". (See: Tomorrow With You)

4) I loved Fight For My Way! I definitely see how there are things that are very 'extra' about it but I thought Park Seo Joon was HILARIOUS (and hot) and had wonderful chemistry with Kim Ji Won. Much of the side stories were zzz but I felt that the comedy and some of the characters made up for it. To each their own, though.

5) WYWS is on my list to watch, and I probably still will - I am getting a little tired of LJS never really getting to move out of the same role though. Also, he rarely has chemistry with anyone... his best role so far (imo) is School 2013 bc his chemistry opposite Woo Bin is off the charts.

6) School 2017 is also on my to-watch list but it's waaaay down there. I have the feeling that for me it'll be one of those "I didn't hate this but it didn't make an impression either" things. Mad Dog I had never heard of, but I want to thank you for putting in that cute gif at the end because I've never heard of Woo Do Hwan and now I want to watch him in stuff!

Apparently I had a lot of drama feelings so ty for the excuse to air them...

I have a tendency to forgive a lot if I get a happy ending. I enjoyed those of these I did watch - haven’t seen…
Yes! I totally agree that I think I'm far more forgiving of less-than-stellar dramas as long as I like the leads and get a happy ending (wink). There are some dramas I looooove that I know are not really well-received in general, but I enjoyed the characters and ending enough that it made an impression on me.

Watch this if:
- You've already seen Together With Me and you're okay with watching anything that will show you more of Max & Tul interacting as a couple because they are freaking excellent at it. Even if they really seem to have gone more backward than forward in their relationship (until the end anyway).
- That's it. There's no other reason to watch this.

1) WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT was that insane plot. Why? What? I don't - how were so many people on this campus absolutely nuts?

2) I kept waiting for chemistry between Yiwha and Cho and found none of it. Every bit of chemistry in this show came from watching Knock (honestly, even when he's just hanging out with other dudes who aren't Korn. That bitch could charm a tree.)

3) No honestly, don't even bother unless you want to see more of Korn & Knock, and even then just skip to their parts and try to hold on for the less frustrating bits.

4) ...Just go watch Together With Me. Possibly again. I'm going to.

It took me like 2 or 3 epsiodes until I got really into it. But then it got pretty addictive and I loved the chemistry…
I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who got annoyed by that.

I skipped so many scenes just for Korn and Knock...but wtf was the ending? That friend of Cho's was basically…
All of this! Yes! What the hell???
